When doing this week's nightfall, I was using my Ice Breaker after I ran out of ammo on my void sniper against the walker, wishing I had more but unwilling to burn special ammo on it. Suddenly, a lightbulb - what happens if I switch guns after it regenerates ammo? Will I still be at 0, or will the normal ammo penalty apply and leave me with a few shots?
Presto chango- ammo for my Praedyth's Revenge! In fact, given the way the ammo algorithm works, I actually had 10 shots, half of my normal max ammo! This was amazing, and let me breeze through the rest of the strike. As cool as that was... that obviously is an unintended side effect. Unlimited ammo over time for the IB is fine, but not for every special weapon you have. I haven't unlocked my Invective's ammo regen yet, so I don't know if it has the same effect, but it should be looked at as well to make sure it doesn't.
Sorry to be that guy, forums. But you don't really want to be that way do you?
(Also sorry to start this as a related topic, but the app is down and New Topic doesn't work on my phone)
Edit: to be 100% clear, the real problem is it generates more ammo for other guns than it does for itself. This has various side effects and abusable implications, and the solution is as simple as treating the IB ammo as a full clip, not full reserve ammo. Then on switching you would get a half clip.

It's most likely unintended. The perk is on the weapon, not the weapon category. With that perk you could swap your Plan C out for Ice Breaker, regenerate ammo, then swap back. The only downside? You have to open the menu twice to do it.

Could that be an added bonus to the exotic weapon though? Considering what some of them can do ammo regin that effects the class is not that unbelievable
