Explosive rounds is the SHIT! The splash damage is negligible for higher level activities(raid/nightfall) but they give the gun a minor "stagger" effect, which can save you from a charging group of knights or a Pretorian that wants the D and won't leave you alone. I don't know about Zen moment, my DYK doesn't have that option, but Explosive rounds are definitely the tits.

The thing about PVP is that (in my opinion) you are better off investing in stability because of damage scaling; even with all the power upgrades, it will still take ~3 shots to kill, and if you spec purely for damage the recoil will be slightly unwieldy. If you focus on stability it is still a ~3-4 shot kill, but you will have a much easier time landing shots and scoring crits (Bringing the number of shots required down). If you have the extended range perk, the stability will play a huge role in whether or not the DYK is effective, with high damage you can drop shields and help teammates get kills, but with high stability you can stay on target and net a couple for yourself, too.Conversely, some people swear that the slightly higher dps outweighs the kickback, and if you are planning on using it mainly for short range engagements(e.g. shotgun zone) then you will probably prefer the additional "punch" and not notice the wavering sights. The choice is yours.
