You have been directed to this thread from here.
This might not be as perfectly organized as i would like it to be, but please bear with me. :)
SEPARATE THE TWO!
Have separate gear and leveling for both PvP and PvE. When you do PvE, you cannot use those weapons and armor in PvP and Vice-Verca.
The only time where the two can meet, would be during the Iron Banner. (Iron Banner Armor/Weapons can be used in both PvE and PvP)
I understand that Bungie doesn't want to update both separately. But you know what, (I speak for myself here) Nobody cares!
To add to this; If Bungie wont update PvE and PvP Separately, then why should one half of the game benefit, where the other half will surely not.
Lets picture this:
A player who doesn't care much for the Campaign. That player would spend a lot of time in the Crucible. Unfortunately for that player, they are forced to undergo leveling up in campaign and grinding for better weapons. There should be a way for that player to start up Destiny, get into the crucible, and play there with Specific weapons and armor made exclusive for PvP. The longer they play PvP, the more practical their weapons/armor become.
Now,
Picture This:
A player who never stepped foot in The Crucible. They don't see the need in fighting other players. They focus mainly on Missions, Strikes, and Raids. They constantly grind to find better gear and increase in level (Just how it should be in PvP). After this player has spent countless hours getting that perfect set of armor. He/She can organize a Fireteam to undergo the most difficult Strikes and Raids.
---
It would be unfair to other players who focus more actively on PvP, if a player who (for example) Finished a raid on the hardest difficulty and received a great weapon, and then go to the PvP, and use that weapon there. Difficulty finding weapons in PvE Should be rewarded only in PvE, Whereas Difficulty upgrading weapons in PvP, should be rewarded only in PvP.
With the increasing use of items, the Vault would be accessed a lot more often. Therefore I believe to accommodate for the separation of PvE and PvP, There would have to be an increase in Vault Space (which in my opinion, isn't going to break the game).
Players who took their time to reach the top should be recognized by the people who share the same interests.
Complaining about the lag?
If this idea works, there would be two separate servers for PvP and PvE. Nobody would worry about balancing or lag issue
My responce to the new Iron Banner Update:
With the new recent addition of the level 30 armor from iron banner, there has been a lot of arguments in the forums saying that now it will be too easy to become level 30 and it will be unfair for those who do the raids, others are more lenient to this.
Now let's talk about the separation between PvP and PvE. If you where able to level up differently, not only will the game be more enjoyable because you have more options to play with, but you can settle this argument between PvP and PvE.
Let's say you unlock iron banner at PvP level 20. You unlock gear based on how well you play rather than luck, and then you level up your gear by playing PvP. You'll be able to get to level 30 by doing the iron banner (Only for PvP).
And for PvE it would just remain the same, regular grinding, strikes, and raids to level up with gear you get along the way, and you'll be able to get to 30 from the raid.
I think that this game would be a lot more enjoyable if this was implicated. A lot less stress for Bungie, and more content for the players. More options to keep players wanting to play more. Because I'm sure if a player reaches level 30 they'll just make a new character and start over.

all gear up to level 20 should be interchangeable. then separate the legionaries and exotics. next step is to make the perks on all weapons super awesome in their respective activity. I would say that even class skills could be as they are now but at level 20 another row of skills becomes available for both activities but only can be used in that activity. basicly make everyone more awesome without destroying balance

1 ReplyFFXIV:ARR does a good job of this with their Wolves Den PvP.

Nah. Focus on pve balancing and if something ends up being really powerful for pvp compared to other stuff then let it be powerful. Everyone has the same chance to get the same gear and abilities. The fact is it really doesn't matter how well you do in pvp. You get your marks and rep and chance for gear for wins and losses regardless of your personal score. And if you really suck then the match making system is just going to put you on a team more likely to win anyway. bungie needs to either make pvp drops based on personal performance or completely stop changing stats based on how well certain gear does in pvp.

1 ReplyTL;DR Balance between pvp and pve? Your gear really means nothing in pvp...only iron banner (when they fix it). At level 10 I could hold my own against most everybody of a similar skill...at level 20+ nothing changed...

1 ReplyI think the gear itself isn't the problem. It's the fact that the nerfs are universal to the game. The Vex Mythoclast didn't need to be nerfed in PvE, and in PvE, I'm pretty sure no one cared you could fire your Pocket Infinity 8 times before reloading (the only argument I can think of is a noise complaint).

Easier method would be to make two different games and stop trying to stick them together all the damn time.

1 ReplyThe point is pvp to pve and vice versa is a seamless transition.

Edited by dudeware: 10/26/2014 8:42:08 AMThey should of had it separated in the first place. BUNGIE really doesn't understand the concept of nerfing and buffing enough to really be messing with both PvP AND PvE.
