I don't really like the idea of putting bows into Destiny, with this one exception:
It would be pretty cool if the third Hunter subclass' super used a void bow (the bow would be made of light but purple because it's void damage). The super could be called Void Arrow. The subclass could be Dark Ranger.
As for your other suggestions:
Sub-machine Guns - Would have to have lower range, higher rate of fire AND more recoil (in general) the longer fired over ARs. However, they should have overall better accuracy firing from the hip.
Close Range Melee Special - I sort of am on the fence with this idea. I like it and hate simultaneously. Part of me thinks it would be cool to have (but, wouldn't it make the regular melee redundant?). The other part of me thinks that a solar hammer or sword should be the Titan's third subclass' super. The super could be called Phoenix Blade/Hammer, Solar Blade/Hammer, or Burning Blade/Hammer. The subclass could be called Paladin, Warlord, or even Firelord.
Long Range - As for the Gauss gun idea ... I could be wrong but I believe the exotic sniper, Ice Breaker, is very similar to a coil gun (Gauss gun). As for a railgun ... I think a railgun would be more along the lines of a heavy weapon rather than a special. I like the idea though.
Heavy - Not really fond of miniguns because in real world applications they would be nearly impossible to handle. Some sort of grenade launcher (with a limited amount of ammo) would be pretty cool. I like the laser cannon idea but it would say it should have a slight cooldown between the firing of its beams to keep it from being OP.
Overall, pretty good post.
