Best Faction for Hunters?!
Been leveling up a Gunslinger Hunter the past two days. What do you think is the best faction to join for Hunters? I have an exotic gauntlet waiting for him but I'm trying to get legendaries relatively fast. Should I join Dead Orbit, New Monarchy, or Future War Cult? Or just level up the basic Vanguard and Crucible. I spend roughly 60-70% of my time in PvE.

1 ReplyI like the New Monarchy stats for the gunslinger. Their Grenades are useless so there's no need for discipline, max out str/int for maximum super/knife use.

2 RepliesDepends on your weapon choice check the vendors and take the one that suits you best. I got dead orbit for the hand cannon buffs and probably going to work on new monarchy next for some pulse rifle stuff. Just can't get the time and people for regular raids.

I appreciate the replies everyone! I main a level 28 Titan Defender. I went New Monarchy with him but wondered if it was worth my time on my Hunter. I was leaning towards Dead Orbit due to the tendency of holding onto my super but one of my hunter friends was complaining about it because of their auto rifle. Definitely want some good weapons to purchase. Btw, I definitely play more PvE but I still max my marks for Crucible every week

I went with dead orbit because it felt like the right choice as a hunter + hand cannon perks + strength/discipline... But if you aren't maxing out your crucible points every week I would just stick with vanguard.

does anyone know if the faction gear is any better than the vanguard gear?

You can't really "join" a faction in Destiny. Your best bet is to simply get all rep up to 3, but I guarantee you will stop using all faction gear completely once you get exotics and raid gear.

My warlock uses New Monarchy gear, i was tired of that ugly queen's wrath stuff, my titan has random gear pieces and i'm thinking in getting the vanguard set, just need more marks and my hunter, my strongest character, well, i'm trying to get the raid gear. For hunter, the ghost stuff from vanguard looks nice, keep doing bounties, tiger strikes and nightfall, you'll get there real fast :)

Depends each faction focuses on specific aspects of intelligence, strength and discipline new monarchy focuses on intellect and strength these two speeds the cool down time of your super charge and Granade im in new monarchy they fit my playstyle you just have to focus on what you use most

I did Dead Orbit myself, for my hunter. Their gear is DIS/STR. My thought was the Hunter supers aren't really "spamable" or "oh sh#t" buttons. They take a bit more time/skill to use to get the most out of them. So I usually end up holding onto it for that "right" moment, be it pvp or pve. So for how I play I didn't really need INT. Ultimately it won't matter though as you'll go with all raid gear and one exotic. Though Dead Orbit does have a sweet hand cannon I love, that you can't buy, but only earn randomly from ranking them.

I went with FWC. I run an Intellect/Discipline build, so their gear was perfect for me.
