Proof that RNG is glitched for my character
[b]Here is a list of all the legendary and exotic gear I've earned so far in the game, having reached level 28:

[url=http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/72764198/0/0][b]I have played every day since day one, and [i]never [/i]earned any gear other than blue and green trash. Not even one item of legendary or exotic weapon or armour. Not one![/b][/url] ALL of my gear is charity items purchased from vendors.
[b]For comparison, here is a list of the gear my co-op buddy has got, having reached level 28 and played the same games as me -- he routinely gets good gear while I literally never get anything:[/b]
Exotic weapons:
Hard Light (assault rifle)
Ice Breaker (sniper rifle)
Exotic bounty not yet started, because no need (cannot recall which)
Others (I cannot recall)
Legendary weapons:
Final Boss (sniper rifle)
The Comedian (shotgun) -- yeah, he's definitely laughing, at me!
Cryptic Dragon (scout rifle)
Red Hand IX (hand cannon)
Grim Citizen III (assault rifle)
Super Pox CLO (pulse rifle)
Epitaph 2261 (sniper rifle)
Invisible Hand M7 SG (shotgun)
77 Wizard (fusion rifle)
Exodus Plan RS/1 (rockets)
Others (I cannot recall)
Legendary armor
Monitor Type 2 (helmet)
Monitor Type 2 (chest)
Nerigal Savant II (leg)
Others (too many to remember)
I'd be happy with ONE item from this list, but I have NOTHING.
He also gets numerous Titan marks, and countless nice items from opening chests, including big stacks of ascendant materials, and big stacks of harvestable materials, and countless ships (Fangs of Nyx, etc) and other nice stuff. I have never had anything from a chest other than green trash gear from chests, and up to 25 glimmer and a maximum of 2 harvestable items.
[b]CONCLUSION: RNG GLITCH![/b]
Until yesterday. Yesterday, we started nightfall with him AFK for 5 minutes, and by the time he picked up his controller he had a legendary engram which became yet another legendary weapon. I have only ever had two legendary engrams. One turned into blue trash pre patch. The other, yesterday, turned into a hunter cloak when I do not have a hunter and that item dismantled into class trash materials that I cannot use.
Yesterday, I did finally get Invective for completing that one specific exotic bounty. But [url=http://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/73125415/0/0/1]Bungie has nerfed Invective, the one and only exotic weapon I have ever earned[/url] -- my one and only really good weapon, and one of only two weapons other than raid exclusives which require a degree of skill to obtain.
[b]CONCLUSION: ONGOING RNG GLITCH![/b]
EDIT: Destiny's so-called RNG is not RNG. Not that Bungie ever claimed it was. There is weighting,. I believe the weighting is flawed, but it could also be deliberate to serve some purpose I'm not aware of. People can stop calling it RNG now. I;m sharing this fact with the community. Take it or leave it. But be aware that this game is severely unbalanced and a character's "luck" is certainly not as random as players think.

I stopped reading because it's not proof. It is random. Every individual roll, you have the same chance to get garbage loot. It doesn't increase because you play more. It sucks but that's how it is.

Sincerely, A guy who has played since day 1, raids every week 3x, does the Nightfall 3x, etc., etc.

3 RepliesThis obviously a shit tone of bullshit. If youve played everyday since day one, you would have vanguard rank 2 at the minmum allowing you to buy a full set of legedary gear. If not a faction rank above 3. This said you will be able to do the raid leaving you with raid weapons, also you can do the weeklys allowing you to buy exotics from xur... Nuff

2 RepliesI've have stated keeping track of what my group gets in the raid. I haven't gotten one price of raid armor but I have gotten all the weapons! Now I keep getting the same weapons over and over again and people who get armor are getting the same armor over and over again and sometimes they get a weapon! My buddy has gotten two characters to lvl 30 before I can get even once price of raid armor! I don't this it is so random either!

Ask for a random number, often within a range of expected values. Which you then use to index into a loot table, which has been carefully weighted by a designer based on the game's economy. Unless your name is "cbjoe", in which case the code looks something like this: IF (name == cbjoe) THEN Only give Blues and Greens END IF Because that is how games are made. You are right. You discovered our dark secret. There is another loot table, that only special, pay-per-use customers and Onyx Elite cardholders have access to.

I think you've stretched the truth somewhat to fit your agenda. I also think that your case, if true, shows how truly random it is since you're probably the only person in this situation. Consider yourself the rarest snowflake of them all and lord your mighty 28 all over the Tower in defiance and watch the rest of the gaming populace come to view you as the demi-god you clearly are.

3 Repliesthis either isn't true or you haven't taken advantage of the rewarding missions that destiny offers. Nightfall is a guaranteed chance to get either strange coins, a legendary or and exotic. I've done every nightfall since the game came out on 2 characters except for the very first week. and every time I've completed it, I've received either and exotic or a legendary.

We know that attributes of the character do influence the loot algorithm in Destiny's PLS loot system, but the community has not yet elucidated how and it may or may not involve gear. [b]For example, if you have exotic gloves equipped, that certainly does increase your chances of getting legendary gloves from an engram. [/b]We could speculate that the game is trying to help you by foreseeing that you will want to swap that slot eventually, but it is a flawed system. For instance, if you already have 4 legendary gloves, it does not stop you getting another one! A system that Bungie perhaps thought was clever in reality leads to very frustrating results for many players. Keep looking for ways to influence the loot algo. We are still a long way off from unerstanding it that well.

1 ReplyI've played every day except one since launch, and in that time I've only found three purps. THREE! Are you kidding me? Every other legendary item I have was purchased. I even spent hours and hours at the loot cave before it was nerfed, and I never got a single purp from it. And yet other players who were there with me found multiple. Also, the only exotics I have were either bought from Xur or came from completing an exotic bounty. I actually like the idea of exotic bounties. That way, players know what they will be rewarded with and when they will be rewarded with it. Destiny should have a loot system that works this way for every exotic and legendary item. A player should be able to say "ok, I know I will earn (insert exotic or legendary item) when I complete (insert relevant activities)". I don't think anyone would have a problem with that kind of loot system.
