Came across a pile of ashen remains in a cave near the Skywatch (near the helos; the one where Hive spawn from) withe the interaction disturb the remains. Plays an audio clip saying "A million deaths are not enough for Master Rahool".
Just wondered if anyone knows anymore about this as I can't seem to find any reference on the internet.

reference to the magnificent loot cave we day one players farmed.Hive would just keep coming out while guardians mowed them down for the engrams , hence large pile of bones and the message "a million deaths aren't enough for master rahool"

5 RepliesBack in the day, in the beginning of Destiny pre patches. There was a cave of wonder. Guardians from around the systems would gather to fight the hive at their base. The hive invaded sometime ago and was using that center as a front for their invasion of earth. Little did they know the guardians of light were waiting, crosshairs on the cave, fingers on the trigger. The acolytes were hit the hardest. They walked into a literal killzone. Millions had perished. Yet they still pushed on, praying to leave, hoping. They started sending out hive with gifts. Some were good, others were not. They had hoped that the guardians would accept these and leave them alone. Little did they know about the greed of man. After many days of death, the hive were getting desperate. They could not win this war through conventional means, too much blood was being shed. They, in a last ditch, desperate attempt reached out. Reached out to the Architects. They begged and pleaded, they gave their treasure to the Architects instead in hopes of stopping the guardian onslaught. Finally the Architects fell pity among the hive and accepting their gifts, effectively relieving the hive of their burden. After that, the guardians gave up. They moved onto other areas in hopes of treasures, and the hive were once again able to continue their invasion. The only thing that remains of the loot wars is a cryptic msg left behind by master rahool. A msg of warning.

What actually happened is the cryptarch was so awful that he just decrypted everything into shards to a point that the hive were offended. So they put that there.

1 ReplyLmao, the people not looking at the date.

Time for some history That was the location of the infamous loot cave. People would sit there and shoot an endless stream of hive, getting loads of engrams in the process. Bungie found out what was going on and put a stop to it
-
They made it back when people use to farm engrams there
-
Look up the "loot cave".

Ahhh the good old days. Standing in the Slywatch with 4-5 randoms just blasting away at the Hive from the Loot Cave. Do 5-6 cycles, run in and pick up engrams and ammo, repeat as long as desired. The unspoken rule of "don't be the idiot that runs to the cave after every wave that was killed."
-
Loot cave haha
-
What I heard was that a player would sit there and kill anything that came out of the cave. And it would keep respawning enemies so the put a pile of bones there to stop that from happening but I could be wrong
-
It was one of the many ways bungie decided to destroy/nerf the loot cave epidemic.

1 ReplyWell once upon a time, us guardians once stumbled upon a magical cave in skywatch. You may have heard the legends about said cave, but it used to have a magical power that spawned hive every 5 or so seconds... Groups of guardians made their way to the cave in search of loot and worked together to attain said loot. But one day, the evil goblins (hardcore players) started complaining to their overlords (bungie) that it was unfair because they found it boring and that it was an exploit (even though caves like this exist in nearly every MMO and borderlands and was far from an exploit). Sadly the overlords listened to the goblins rather then the ewoks (us) and all that remains of the legendary cave is a pile of dead body's.

This is an easter egg put in place to remember the days of the original Loot Cave
