People with more than one character getting strange coins

Original post: Do ya'll think it's okay to do this? It's possible to get at least 9 or more strange coins a week if each character does the weekly strike. I remember when strange coins where difficult to get. Mmh... This makes buying exotics from Xur way easier making them less "exotic." I use to be okay with buying things with strange coins, now Im starting to be against it since it's simple with the way people are doing it.

Edit3: I forgot to thank everyone was nice enough to reply their thoughts without being rude. I had a good time reading your thoughts and made me glad to have enjoyed that small amount of discussion that existed momentarily.
Edit4: I was getting a ton of crap for bringing up something that's old. I know, I wanted to talk to others and have their input to why they do this and perhaps get some of their thoughts on Xur's system. I myself have 2 characters and run the weekly strikes.

There's nothing wrong with this system. I already have a Stockpile of SC's Plus I will get 21 more this week, just by doing Heroic strikes. (My lvl 24) wouldn't be able to handle a 28 Strike. I will put them all in my vault, and then Xur will have nothing I need. I already have a stockpile of Exotic Weapons which more than half never even leave my vault, and I already have 3 exotic pieces of armor on all of my characters, So the SC's aren't even needed at this point. I do the Heroic Weekly's because they have better loot drops than Nightfall.

1 ReplyWho cares, as long as you can buy something most weeks, you will have most if what you want in no time! The real fun in the game isn't in getting guns it's in using them, and right now I need four hands without exploiting (if that's what you wanna call it) coins! Also, people should be making new characters because it's fun to use the other classes not for coins and AM's!

I think it's fine if you want to do the same mission three times over for 27 strange coins sure. I get this amount normally, but that's just my opinion.

Umm yes its perfectly fine to do that. You put in the same amount of effort if not more (considering you have to get up to Atleast lvl 23 on each character). They get what a grind really is. For you cod players this must be new to you. But any mmorpg player would of thought of this grind tactic instantly.

I'm starting to get to the point now where I am wanting to blast all my strange coins on buying heavy ammo synths from Xur and probably the odd exotic armor I haven't already got... People need to understand that just because it says "Exotic" doesn't necessarily mean it NEEDS to be hard to get.. I come across a few each week (possible two from nightfalls, maybe heroic) that get binned for the shards, I only keep the actual "Exotic" looking weapons.. I don't run around fancying my warlock/titan showing off everything I have, I'd sooner join my raid and be a part of my team, instead of wanting to be the best out of the team.. That is bungies aim, that was how it was explained in one of their videos (yes they also stated that you will have a story to tell from each weapon, which I agree is bullshit, but my original statement stands!!) Just because they're easy to get, doesn't mean your any less special in your 3 to 6 man team.. Because without you at all that team wouldn't be as effective.... Getting your best weapons to 300 DMG and your light to 120 should be your ultimate aim until the DLC come out... And stop thinking that just because you have a SUROS or some other weapon Xur has now widely distributed, that people are going to stop looking at your character thinking WoW!!!.. Because I doubt they're even thinking that in the first place :) EDIT - Definition of Exotic colorful, curious, different, enticing, extraordinary, fascinating, foreign, glamorous, outlandish, unfamiliar, bizarre, mysterious, queer, rare, unique Given that "rare" is also in there, I'm going to disregard that as the blue weapons are "rare" and they're a plenty in Destiny.

Strange coins are stupid easy to get. I spent a couple of hours doing Vanguard Tiger Strikes and probably got the 3 strange coins that I would have gotten using this method out of the Engrams that I was awarded at the end. On top of that I also got Vanguard marks and a whole bunch of other random stuff (Did you know that you can max out your glimmer?). It personally doesn't make any sense to me to change characters to get 3 strange coins and nothing else from a strike, when I could instead stay on my current character, get Vanguard Marks and other loot as well as strange coins and motes of light.

I swear you people are going to ruin an MMORPG because the difference in this game compared to the traditional mmorpg is that you're taking this game as a sci fi style COD. JUST STOP BITCHING AND GO AWAY

I agree the strange coins need to be limited to profile. Your tag or id needs to have a tracker that knows when you complete a strike for coins so you only get the reward once. But, you can do all levels and get the reward. 3, 6, 9 and so on. A fair compromise. It will prevent the constant "I can buy everything Xur is selling" mentality and have people wait and decide.

If someone really puts all that time into 3 characters over level 27, then by god let them have it. It took me weeks just to get one of my characters to level 28.
