... or is it just a stupid way to prevent people from hitting 30 without raid gear ?

16 RepliesFrom what I understand, Bungie wants players to experience every aspect of the game. So to reach level 30, you'll need to play the VoG to get the raid gear to reach Level 30. It makes sense, but not being able to equip more than one Exotic Weapon at a time is pointless. And I say this because they do the EXACT same damage when maxed out. The only difference is that the Exotic Weapons have a Special Upgrade to them that make them unique; i.e. Wolf Pack Rounds with the Gjallarhorn, Ice Breaker with the Ice Breaker, Pocket Infinity with the Pocket Infinity, etc. They all have a little something extra, but all in all...they're just Legendary Weapons that are harder to come by.

1 ReplyI think it's fair cuz If u had all exotic hear it would be OP
-
Because when Blizzard figured out (after 8 years) that having a single, clear-cut "best in slot" gear scheme is a bad idea they made a blog post about it.

I can understand the armor side, because it governs your level, but weapons, we can only hold one in hand so it does not matter at all to limit this side of it. I have exotic rocket, and machine gun, which I never use because primary and secondary are more important to have as an exotic, so by limiting the weapons we use in any case is limited. I never use Invective outside of PvP it is useless, same with infinity, so each has its own place, but regardless most times we use that one item when needed, Not like the exotics are much more powerful then legendary, and it makes little difference if the weapon I don't use is legendary, if the one in hand is always exotic. Should let us equip as many weapon exotics as we want, it does not balance the game to limit this, the person with Suros is not likely to use a legendary sniper, shotgun in any case.

I don't really understand it either considering the multiplayer is balanced :/
-
I don't understand it either to be honest, I'm sure raid gear is pretty much the same stats as the exotics anyway
-
Keep it locked away from weapons, I wouldn't mind on armor.
-
I think you should be able to do it for armour so that you dont need to do the raid to level to 30 Guns should stay 1 exotic
-
Exotic gear is easier to obtain than raid gear.
-
Gear dumb auto correct
-
hopefully they increase the cap whenever big dlc arrives...add one spot each time

2 Replies2 reasons. Game/build balance. With having to waer one exotic and one exotic weapon, you now have to choose how your builds gonna work. You can't just have amazing punching speed, better grenades, and spawn with all skill on cooldown. You have to choose which perk best fits you. Second, not enough Exotics. There is like 1 exotic gauntlet for every class. And probably 2 armors for every class. Every body would look the same and people would get bored. Until they have a plethora of exotics to choose from, wearing more than one shouldn't be implemented imo.
-
I actually like that it forces you to think about your build and make decisions based on your actual play style instead of just ditching all legendaries.
-
2 RepliesI think it also has to deal with the amount of light you recieve. If they increase th cap you will need more light so need more gear.
-
7 RepliesIt's a way to have RNG be the way a lot of stuff is given out but not let that ruin the balance.. Also, I have 3 pieces of exotic gear..if I wore all of it I'd be invincible.. and your response: not if everyone else has that much too.. YES, but there are some people that don't have any exotics after playing more than 40 hours because RNG.
-
3 RepliesYes there's a point. If they wanted to prevent people from hitting 30 they could make all exotics 27 light and make the lvl 30 limite 3 less to still fit 30. The reason there's an exotic limit is because the buffs on the armor usually alters your build dramatically through perks.
-
2 RepliesExotics are OP and they are designed as stand-alone pieces of gear as are the weapons.
-
1 ReplyI think that it is a way to incorporate choice into your loadout. Like someone posted below, if we could equip all the exotics we have we would all eventually be identical. Honestly, I like the way they have it because it is more challenging. Btw I have 11 exotics so believe me it ain't easy to choose.
-
1 ReplyI can understand 1 piece of exotic armor however I'm tired of the weapon limit. It's not hard to rotate weapons so it's simply an annoyance factor that slows down gameplay.
-
4 RepliesI believe Bungie wants to diversify the armor people wear. Wearing all exotics would mean everyone would be wearing the same things eventually, so I understand....slightly Ya see, as it stands, there is currently only two sets of raid armor, one being more valuable than the other. As it turns out, bungie expects players to fully deck out in it, which ironically, nullifies the previous statement. In other words, it doesn't make sense, but until Bungie makes more raids and raid armor, we will just have to deal with it their double standards. Oh well, you can always preview an exotic while wearing one if your curious how cool it'd look
-
It'll make people way to op and yeah also because you'll become level 30 way to quick and without doing the raid

1 ReplyI think the whole gearing system is total nonsense. I have to keep coming out the game screen to switch guns all the time from ice-breaker to fusion to Shadow price-my scout rifle etc. Armour wise I'm happy too so when I get exotics...they mean nothing becuase I have to replace the ones I have...I dont get it. Other than getting new guns, there's totally no excitement or point in gaining new gear..I have to keep swapping them out by leaving the game screen it becomes far too annoying to be fun. I can see this getting fixed however once the beta finishes
