requiring insane amounts of pvp for exotic weapon bounty SUCKS.
I would like to express my extreme hatred of the fact that I finally got an exotic weapon bounty and one of the requirements is collecting void energy by doing pvp. I hate pvp I'm not good with it and I don't enjoy it. It wouldn't be so terrible for this weapon bounty if you didn't LOSE points for dying. This is very disappointing for me after getting my hopes up for this exotic weapon. I'm struggling to keep my void energy points at 150 even. Getting 500.....doesn't seem like it's ever gonna happen. There should be a choice of pvp or non pvp tasks for these things. Not everyone likes or is good at pvp and some people would rather pvp all day. I'm spending my whole evening doing stupid crucible, barely making any progress on the bounty and not getting the vanguard marks and rep I need for my other gear. =(

You should spend PVE time doing the raid, getting Atheon's Epilogue, then if you play PVP for 2 hours getting 10 kills per game at a .5 KDR, you will have Thorn!!! Wooooo it's so easy!

I hate that I have to do pve shit for most exotic bouties. Consider yourself lucky.

Thorn was the hardest one for me, and I did them all. But I am a mediocre crucible player at best, and I got the void part done in two days. I also have a job and a girlfriend, so no, please do not try and tell me I have too much time on hand or no life. It's not easy, but it is an exotic bounty, right? Keep trying man. You'll get it. :)

In regards to the Lore surrounding Thorn, the PvP is and should be a requirement. If you find yourself having trouble, try switching up your play style. Stick with your team. Assists count towards your total and you're less likely to get single-out or double-teamed. Try a sniper. There are plenty of things you can do to increase your odds of completing the bounty with minimal setbacks. In my opinion, I think it's great that they include PvP portions in Exotic Weapon Bounties, because it requires them to show skill in ALL aspects of the game, not just the PvE content. Content which, again my opinion, is easy to do solo or with a half-competent group.

I agree, bungies bullshite attempts to force the player pop into PVP is counterproductive it simply drives players away from bungie, I have not played this game since early last week, last night I was about to play, then couldn't think of anything I actually wanted to do. As a solo player, there is no path forward for me.

I had trouble with this bounty too. But I used heavy ammo with void damage. And waited for the heavy Ammo every single time, this sped up the process.

Maybe they could just make it have an alternative. Instead 1250 points but no death penalty.

Void is easy. Fusion rifle and nova bomb.

shuld b other options than the 500 points in void.... id rather do a hard raid, or 200 of each material, like 50-75 motes of light something...anything but pvp honestly

I actually finished the bounty!!!! I tricked the system! I completed the pvp part by NOT TRYING to complete it. Rolf! I started working on just crucible rep so I can buy a sparrow and the void points just started racking up! It caused me to change my play style in there. *facepalm*

I completely understand, but I love pvping. I feel the same way but that I must pve to get these exotic bounties done.

That one takes some time. If you can get a void rocket launcher with proximity explosions it helps a lot. Otherwise yes I would suggest a fusion rifle. Play control and follow the biggest group. The extra distraction gives you a little more time to line up a charged shot.

Its worth the effort trust me and when the guns get buff eventually to reflect the power of that sound they make you will literally love putting that effort in.
