Please modify or remove/change depleted hand cannon bounty
I play a gunslinger PvE and use hand cannons as part of my character makeup. I was super happy to get an exotic bounty for a hand cannon, until I ran into the depleted hand cannon bounty.
This is the most unfun, unfair bounty to a non-PvPer in the entire set. I don't PvP. I am terrible at it. Yet not only am I forced to have a positive K/D ratio, I have to do it with void damage. Well, 4 hours, 22 matches later, I have 7 points. Thanks, Bungie. It's enough to make me stop playing until you fix this ridiculous requirement.
I don't want to hear from players "learn to play" "stop sucking" etc. I am not good at PvP. I raid in MMOs, I PvE, that is what I enjoy and am good at. It's not fair that a style of weapon has this PvP step, and void damage to boot.
I can't use my specials, I can't use my grenades, I can't even hit with my hand cannon or an auto rifle because by the time I switch, I'm dead.
I have a shot gun, which only works in some cases (I went shotgun to shotgun and lost), I have a rocket launcher, and a sniper rifle that does void.
I got up to 34 then died 17 times in a row. Back to zero. So what am I doing now? Hiding in a corner under heavy ammo comes out, blowing up 2-4 guardians, and hiding again.
I'm completely hurting my teammates.
This is not fun, it is not fair to non-pvpers, and it should be changed.

i cried too at first few hours.....thorn is calling you guardian i used void sniper and stood on back of maps in control,enemy is too far and you usually kill them before they get close,worked for me,and if your team is terrible they will come after you all the time so you gotta find another game

Get a group of mates and play Rumble or Skirmish (the one that is free for all) and get them to help by letting you kill them with void damage. I did that for the last 100 points and had it done in no time. Once that's over it is a breeze after that.

The invective bounty is similar and I was worried about it also. I'm decent at PvP, but not spectacular. I finished the PvP part of the bounty by just playing VERY carefully. Always looking at the radar, knowing where the enemy is going to be, and to set up and wait for them being more than ready to shoot first. Don't just run around randomly. Play slowly and they will come to you. I found control to be the best way, since you have an idea of where people will be. Hand cannon/shotgun worked wonders.

Thorn is worth it. They should all have that hate/love relationship.

1 ReplyI honestly wish more exotic bounties were like Thorn. It was easily my favorite bounty to compete so far. It's challenging and required you to be good at many aspects of the game. The alternate strike on the Moon was cool too. More exotics should have had similar requirements as Thorn is the only exotic I feel like I've earned.

Actually you could have a .5 k/d and get it. And also 3/5 of the bounties require PvP.

You don't need a positive KDR you could die twice for every void kill you get and you'd still be able to complete the bounty

If you play raids I assume you have the void auto rifle which is very helpful in this bounty Try your luck again

Lol, the only void weapon I have is a shotgun. I finished depleted hand cannon with ease but I'm stuck on xyor.

Get used to it like everyone else that completed it has. Sorry if you're not good at PvP, but you should be required to deal with the same challenge as everyone else, if not abandon your exotic bounty and move on.

Get a friend to join you then play rumble matches and ask nicely if he will let you kill him until the bounty is done

3 RepliesI am the same way. Luckily I have a warlock that can deal void damage. Alas 3 days later, and many many frustrated hours, I finally passed that stupid crap. Now I just need to kill Xyor. Which hey, since I'm a PvE player, I can do pretty easily solo even with lvl 26 enemies. Seriously though, we need an "I suck at PvP" alternative

Should've researched the bounties before you picked it. All of the exotic bounties and their requirements are posted somewhere online. A quick Google search would've fixed this problem before it started. And you died 17 times in a row? I guess you should just go back to killing mindless pve enemies since you obviously can't handle fighting against an actual human with a brain.

In all fairness you must suck at Pve as well as PVP then just think of it as super hard AI it's meant to be hard it's an exotic bounty.

2 RepliesI completely agree. The crucible is not a main line in the game. It's more of a side game, and for exotic bounties to have to take place in it is terrible. I get the whole factions and crucible points, but you can get the same weapons from strikes and so i don't care, but when the crucible gets in the way of my enjoyment, I'll have problems.

First of all you don't need to have a positive KD, if for example you got 100 kills that's 500 pts, if you got 101 deaths that's 202 pts taken away, leaving 298 pts, it just makes it quicker having a positive KD. Second, it's like that because you can use the gun in PVP when you have it, you personally may choose not to play PVP with it but a lot more people will. It is hard but try to get hold of a void fusion rifle, that's what I did, it took some time but I did it and completed the whole bounty yesterday, it's just about patience and practice.

You die 17 times in a row? Sorry I normally don't call people out because I am not that great at PvP but dude.... Come on... It's not hard to get a few kills in a row, hide, or leave the game so you don't lose the points.

4 RepliesProtip: get 2 friends to make a fireteam with you and then queue for rumble... have them continually feed you kills until you get it :). Even if randoms kill you having 2 people feed you should get you there quickly enough... even better, they can kill other people who try to kill you :D

1 ReplyThat is the only difficult exotic bounty their is. Especially difficult for Hunters due to not having any void attacks. All exotic bounties should be made more difficult, not less difficult.

Sorry but no, it is not meant to be easy to get. You dont want to put the time to get it, you dont deserve it. They do not have to change it to make it eiaser, it was not meant to be easy or quick. Tough if your dont like pvp. it is how the bounty works. it does not have to be changed to suit how you want it.

Anyhow even if it is..... exotic bounties are supposed to be difficult... you want the game to just hand over to you an exotic weapon? go buy some from Xur if that's what you're looking for....if you want Thorn though... you have to work for it.... also if Bungie removes that requirement how is that fair to the rest of us who had to go through that requirement and finished it? It becomes unfair to those of us who worked hard on that bounty and finished it if they just make it easier....

Sorry but this bounty isn't for you. I had both Bad Juju and Thorn bounties and deleted both because I didn't want to do PVP. I didn't earn them and I am not complaining. I could have easily done both but I don't feel like playing crucible for more than 1 hour
