I have the following Bounties that I am thinking of abandoning:
A Dubious Task: A request from Icora Part II: kill/death spread in crucible of 25
Toland's Legacy: Darkness-infused pulse rifle: 10,000 points
So there are a couple of issues. First on a request from Icora. I had a "1" then played another game and sucked and now am at zero. I am not sure what happened. To be honest I am so bad at the PvP stuff that I don't know how I got the 1 in the first place.
The other factor is the team thing. I feel bad just playing the game to get these bounties. I expect after playing 30 games I could accumulate 10,000 points but I hate to be the weak link on the chain just to complete this
I have a Level 26 Hunter and I have done the weekly strike solo several times. I even got pretty far with a group of 3 26's on the nightfall this week but with one hit kills there isn't anyway I can see we could complete it. But maybe there are other Level 26's who have done it.
I like the game and my reaction time isn't good enough so I would have to really spend a lot of time to learn the maps to find ways to exploit each PvP map.
Is there a way to play PvP that can earn me the bounty but not be a drag on the team as a whole?
Maybe I should just abandon them. Is Bad Juju or Invective worth it? I have Ice Breaker and Super Good Advice already.
Thoughts?

Edited by Zero the Remnant: 10/12/2014 3:56:28 AMWell thankfully I'm actually not bad at PVP. I resent PVP however. But for my Invective Bounty & Queen's Wrath missions headshot bounties this what I did.... Step 1: Join Clash & ONLY the Clash playlist. Step 2: Stay with the team but hang back make them think you are watching their six. Step 3: Wait for them to attack/be attacked and wait. If they die, pop out and kill their attacker. If you see the attacker aim carefully and when your teammate has weakened them...finish them with a kill shot. Step 4: If attacked run to your teammates and use them as cover and a distraction. Step 5: After you reach your goal and it updates. Equip your good weapons and slay every scumbag in pvp that you can. Or in otherwords...PVP as normal. Step 6: Rinse & Repeat for every objective/bounty you have. I'm completely serious this gets me all of my Crucible Marks, Bounties, & everything PVP accomplished with ease.

Thanks for all of the good info. I am going to each of the suggestions and see what works. I am going to watch the videos of PvP action to try and learn the maps. I also realized that wearing bright purple colors probably isn't a good choice:). I really appreciate all of the encouragement. I am Xbox 360/One and am always willing to join a fight if I am online. I am more the more cautious player but when someone is down I can be aggressive to revive (though not crazy). I use a headset but am not a chatter box. GamerTag: ElectronFrank60
I have the following Bounties that I am thinking of abandoning... Thoughts? Frank
Bad Juju is decent when upgraded a bit, and it's apparently going to be improved at some point. I think you should stay with it. I haven't finished Invective yet; that one's harder to get if you're having trouble in Crucible, but it's not impossible. I also dislike and am not particularly good at PvP, but I don't think you should abandon either one. A few things: - learning the maps doesn't take as long as you might think (you can even watch a few videos online first to get an impression first). It does mean your first few games will be bad. If it makes you feel better, put on basic blue or green gear so your level appears lower, and teammates won't expect as much at first. - Finding a strategy that works for you (which weapons to use, what range to keep, etc.) will help a lot, as will moving a lot and using your radar. I personally use a shotgun for emergencies and stay at the longer end of medium range with a low recoil pulse rifle, and have become somewhat effective. I can't solo Heroic strikes (well, I suspect not) and still ended up after many matches with a K/D ratio of around one, and my team wins more often than not. Also, try not to worry too much about deaths. It's not PvE, where each death is a defeat; dying many times a match is normal, even for good players. - Control is a team mode, but the teams are six people, and you can help out simply by defending and capturing posts. I prefer this mode by far, because there's a tactical side, and you can use any strategy you like: aggressively capturing posts, staying back and defending, etc. I promise you that if you can do Heroic strikes, you'll be far better than many of the teammates I've seen in this mode. Doing this is an effective way to grind Juju's and not feel like a burden. - Invective's counter isn't as hard as it seems, since you're actually getting points for kills and assists, and only being penalised on deaths. This means you can stay conservative, and hang back a bit when other, better teammates are rushing in to a battleground, chip away at different targets with your primary, and help your teammate help you by getting the finishes. Tossing grenades whenever you see groups of enemies also helps your teammates finish them off. I actually got this completed in three good games despite being terrible, so it's easier than it sounds. - Lastly, if you find the announcer obnoxious - I did, and found I would get pointlessly rattled when he chided us, and worry about what kind of teammate I was being - take off your headphones and listen to music. I know this seems like a terrible idea, and it certainly hurts awareness, but if you're getting rattled, and having trouble concentrating, you can actually do fairly well by constantly looking around and using the radar. Good luck. Hopefully one day bounties will have PvE and PvP options for the whole thing.

You shouldn't feel bad for being a weak link in crucible, because 90% of the people I'm paired with are god awful. You couldn't possibly be worse than them.

2 RepliesI AM AT A LOST CAUSE W ANY CRUCIBLE BOUNTIES. That is why I'm a Vanguard faction supporter... I don't know if I'll ever get good at PvP with all of the 24/7 competitively paid and not paid players that kill me instantly. I don't know how it happens that I get slammed all of the time. But it's happening... Extremely frustrating to say the least. I don't know how someone can be that much better

6 RepliesHave the same 2, I've been trying to find a group of pve'ers to go into rumble with and just shoot each other until they're completed.

Toland's Legacy really isn't that bad. Death's don't hinder progress. My advice if your worried about dragging others down is to play rumble.

Well if you use shotguns a lot invective might be worth it, but i love my juju. Your weapons are ok assuming you prefer long range, though I'd swap for a fusion rifle personally. As far as skills (assuming you stick with blade dancer in pvp) Switch to path forgotten, fleet footed, and way of the drifter, Speed is the best for a bd to use. After that it's just learn the maps and practice. If you were on ps3, I'd team up with you for a few rounds to show you around the maps, and having a competent team helps a LOT.

With the first bounty... You essential need to hit a point of 25 kills with a death losing you 1 point.. So if you play a match and go 7-4, your score would be 3.. It's not to difficult but if your really stressing about it play control and defend a point.. You'll get your points in no time GL.
