Lets Talk PS4 Remote Play.
so i was talking about Remote play in another thread and it took on a life of its own so i decided to make a thread dedicated to remote play for the PS4. i do alot of remote play over my local WiFi and over Wifi outside of my network so if anyone's having problems i might be able to help you out. other then that enjoy talking about your PSVita & Xperia z3 remote play stories right here.
For anyone who's interested here's a link to a great guide detailing all the cool stuff you can do to optimize your router for gaming. Things like routing your bandwidth to the ps4, port fowarding, packet loss (I know what is that, read and find out)

For me it all comes down to this question, If I get a vita or a playstation tv could I remote into my ps4 so my wife and I can play together?

6 RepliesI've seen people saying it's hard work on the vita. I've actually done the majority of the hours I've spent on the vita. I've done everything the game offers. Nightfalls, Weekly's etc etc. It works a treat.

Love remote play! Destiny runs perfectly fine on the vita. Looks great too. OLED screen is amazing

I play during the week using a vita. It's pretty fiddley compared to playing on the ps4 and tv, but it's good for bounties and general grinding. The main gripe I have is the audio and video going out of sync after about 30 mins of play. Also more fails, accidentally touching the screen and tossing a grenade, or getting cramp and flying my sparrow off a cliff. I love the feature though, stops my girlfriend complaining about me hogging the tv!

2 RepliesPS4 Remote Play is garbage. It won't even maintain a stable connection while I'm 7 feet from the PS4 and local connection either enabled or disabled. Great for lag afk'ing in rumble, that's about it, because that's about all you can do before you get disconnected.

2 RepliesOk maybe you can help me? I bought a ps tv for the bedroom mainly and for when i go to the mother in laws for the weekend. When I first started using it the lag was awful about 3-5 seconds I followed the internet tips and changed some settings on my tv and on the ps4. Problem is I mostly raid and nightfall and I'm still having a second or 2 of lag which makes it virtually impossible to do anything except patrols.

12 Replieswait a second, can you do remote play if, let's say your ps4 is in your house and you are at a friends house or somewhere else!!? I thought you had to have both connected to the same wifi or something, if you tell me you can. I'm buying it right now! and how does it work though? I'm not to much of a tech guy.

3 RepliesCan't remote play and party chat at the same time using the playstation Tv! Been looking over the web since Xmas but doesn't look like it's possible! Saying that I did get it working once but haven't been able to replicate what I did the first time. Any advice would be great :)

I play with the psvita when I can't play on the main tv. Did half of IB 2.0 on the vita which was hard work. Mainly do bounties but managed to do the weekly on it this week, it takes some getting used to with the delay and lag

The following error pops up when I try; - Could not connect to the PS4 system. The connection speed of this system might be too slow. In Settings<System<Error History the follow; - Error Code: C2-15941-0 - Application: NPXS10013 (00-000-000) My Setup; PS4 is connected via Ethernet, connection speeds roughly ±2 of 30 mbps up/down (not at home to do the tests so that number is a guess lol). Vita is tethered via mobile, has an average of 7mbps up and 3mbps down. The work WIFI is worse 6mbps up and 0.5mbps down. Works at home (PS4 Ethernet connected and Vita on WIFI or tethered). I followed this guy instruction on the provided link above to narrow down the band of addresses on my router, reduce the random internet noise when powering up the PS4 and to open a few ports for Remote Play so it will work away from home but it still isn't working!
