Materials Exchange at the Vanguard Quartermaster
50 materials (spinmental, spirit bloom, helium filaments or relic iron) will reward you with:
+25 Vanguard reputation
+6 Vanguard Marks
+250 Glimmer
So, for ~30-60 mins of farming a material, you gain a level 24 Strike's worth of rep and marks, without any chance of gear rewards. Don't do the material exchange unless you never need upgrade materials.

Sometimes it is relaxing to chest run vs crucible or repeating strikes. No, it's not efficient, but I usually do a chest run when I want to try a new weapon.
