Is it worth it? I don't play much PVP, was more asking for PVE. ^_^

2 RepliesIronically, the Defender class is much better for DPSing (doing more damage, faster), because if you equip weapons of light (boost to weapons after passing through shield) with Illuminated (boost to weapons of light) you'll do a crap ton of damage.. which is awesome for ending strikes and getting 10,000 more damage done to a boss with the same amount of bullets.
-
Defender is probably the best class for pve just based on the amount of oh shit buttons you get
-
Very much worth it
-
yes, i flip between both alot, but i find im using defender in nightfalls and raids.
-
Defender is a must in hard mode raid
-
Defender is great, love it for soloing PvE. Also in very high demand for high level gameplay, so it'll be much easier to find raid/nightfall groups. Overall I thoroughly enjoy it and would recommend it.
-
I have both sub classes maxed out. I played the defender sub as soon as I got to level 15. It was worth maxing it out, for the times you need a portable overshield in PVP and PVE. However I do recommend doing bounties as a striker and turn them in as a defender to get all the exp towards leveling it up if I were you.
-
You might like defender more after maxing it out.
-
I have maxed striker and need 1 more upgrade for maxed defender and defender is WAY more useful but I still like running striker for PvP (defender for PvE definitely)
-
Do it my friend has a defender Titan and it is so useful in PVE and pvp
-
Do it. DO IT! Defender Titans have a lot more versatility and team supporting options available than Strikers. The super is beastly in a variety of ways already mentioned. Not to mention it can turn into a mobile "command bunker" that can buff you AND any ally that just so walks into it with bonus weapon damage or extra health. Also, no other class can consistently turn out orbs of light faster than a properly spec'd Defender (orbs from melee kills while shield is up... random orbs from heavy weapon kills... orbs from just putting up the ward... orbs from the ward blocking shots... get the picture?). And if you want to go into the Vault of Glass, EVERYONE WILL LOVE YOU FOR IT! Well, maybe not everyone - but you are a void based class which makes you good at dealing with those... you know... minotaurs...
-
2 RepliesI never use Bladedancer but I almost have it maxxed. How? When I turn in bounties, I switch my subclass to BD and also equip weapons and gear that I do not use often. All of that exp from the bounty goes towards everything you currently have equipped. You're welcome.
-
Trust me Defender in pve is a lifesaver Trying to revive a teammate thats ghost is being blasted by mobs? Bubble on their ghost! On the verge of death but you see a weakling minion next to you? Punch it and get a shield! Dont want that pesky shield to come back from that major or you dont want them teleporting away? Suppression grenade gets the job done for you! But that's not all folks! Level your Defender in the next three days and receive a cryptarch punching bag, absolutely free!!!

4 RepliesIs there any reason not to level it? I mean...the experience isn't going to anything else once you finished the class out.
-
Yea it is worth it, I love to have the option of the two subclasses very handy to have the two set of skills to choose from.
-
Defender > striker in almost all situations for me
-
Defender is helpful in just about every Raid setting - nightfall, too. So, yeah, go for it.
-
2 RepliesI'm usually using defender in PvE. Might as well level Defender now since you have Striker maxed out. Switch subclasses before turning in bounties - easy way to level it up. Defender has a bunch of benefits: 1) Bubble; 2) Bubble that can boost hits taken or weapon damage; 3) Force Barrier - creates orbs with melee kills or super fast reloading; 4) If you have Helm of Saint-14, any adds walking into the bubble will be blinded. Hilarious to see adds cover their eyes and walk around aimlessly.
-
8 Replies...... seriously is it worth it? a 2 second change to another class? oh boy the sacrifices you have to make
-
Level it up anyway so you can use it when you need it. Do bounties as a striker, change to defender in the tower and THEN turn them in. That xp you're getting will funnel into defender and you can level it up steadily through the week.

Edited by x_8-BitZombie_x: 10/9/2014 2:37:32 AMWe had a defender with us in the raid, and during the Atheon fight it was a god send; let us set up who would teleport and who would open the portals after each attack phase without ever getting in harms way. In fact it was so useful that I power leveled a Titan this weekend in case we don't have one next time we try the raid.
-
It's great in both pvp and pve
-
Ward of Dawn is amazing. Has saved my butt more times than I can count. Pair it up with Helm of Saint 14 (blinds baddies dumb enough to walk inside) and u will never go back to Striker.
-
real men play striker titans, girly men hide in a bubble.
-
I have both maxed. Definetly max defenser. You'll be around as useful as a SunSinger warlock with self revive
-
Yea do it, I did it and love it. You can vary between both and if you do the Raid it's even more helpful
