Were you detecting an advantage attributed to your more powerful gear and weapons? Did the experience feel different than standard Crucible combat?
Talk to me, Guardians.
UPDATE: I know people quit games when they know they won't win. I'm more curious about your perceptions for how the power-level advantages work. Help me help you. Stay on target!

Edited by Leo Heatnix: 10/18/2015 7:00:22 PMFix the connection issues and kick laggy players. When a awful red bar connection player is mvp in a pvp match it makes me question how unreliable the servers are. The laggy guy teleports all around the place and barely takes any damage yet he can kill ya easily. Seriously get some dedicated people to scout games for such behavior.

Drops after matches are terrible. So much for the primary way to gain IB gear
-
Like you give a rats ass. It's BROKEN!!!!

2 RepliesThe level advantages are insanely minuscule. Impossible to notice. Also, the drop rate is way too low. Also, the gear sucks. Also, there is too much lag. Get dedicated servers. Cheapskates. Also, people quit all the time. Also, STOP PUTTING ME INTO GAMES ON A TEAM THAT IS DOWN 12000-3500. I will quit every time.

1 ReplyEdited by DeltaZulu77: 10/18/2015 5:08:04 PMWorst IB ever. The only positive takeaway is that it wasn't a thorn fest. Here's a few reasons why. Very few loot drops. Under leveled gear. I don't need a 280 pulse rifle because I don't have enough weapon parts to even begin to upgrade it let alone infuse it. Rampant cheating. Did anyone say dedicated servers (chronic crucible problem) Screwed up economy making it even further not worthwhile to buy IB gear. Overall lack of incentive to play because of underwhelming rewards and a frustrating experience. OP supers.. (I know this one is debatable.) Worst IB ever. Just noticed this was a necro bump. Silly me thinking that Bungie would want feedback.

2 RepliesI'm not sure Deej iseven subscribed to this thread ... Yoh know considering he's asking about the first IB back in 2014 Check the post date

Too be completely honest I haven't seen a difference in drops, I'm almost rank 3 almost rank 4 and gotten only the Titan mark
-
I sent the first team home crying then nothing but nothing but void bow glitchers that point on

Do u honor this post, deej?

Worst IB by far
-
Aweful between the crap rewards and infinite shadowshot glitchers this is by far the worst Iron Banner.

Your banning of paying customers is pathetic ya troll. My internets fine. But i understand there are a lot of LESS FORTUNATE ppl out there that cant afford it. But they can play everything else. Your lack of dedicated servers is PATHETIC and how ya shed the blame of lag onto the ppl that PAY YOUR WAGES. PATHETIC.

Edited by AlamoCity: 10/18/2015 6:04:54 PMIt was a complete failure. Horrible drop rates for weapons and gear. The purchasable weapons at 280? I have blues that are much better. There really is no incentive to play IB until you address the drop rates and throw in high-level gear worth grinding for. Oh and address the lag problems. Lag continues to plague PvP on this game.

1 Reply100% negative feedback Great job BUNGiE!

At some point via TTK streams and patch notes Bungie stated that "rewards" for crucible would be more attuned and appropriate for players who during matches were... well... more deserving. Especially those in 1st 2nd 3rd places. I know you are stating your interested in the functionality of power levels. Matching players who are NOT in any fireteam with a 270 light level against opposing players with a 300 light level is poor matchmaking. But Dave, mr. Dague. Please watch the 2m27sec video and understand the relevance of what Bungie stated would be reward fixes that were more adequate for good players, and listen to the results of what I'm mentioning in this video. Bungie would like us to play PVP. But you're not giving much incentive after the results I've briefly explained. I know you asked for a reason. But what do power level interactions matter if the end result is null for efforts. Ty for your time and interaction with community with your busy schedule.

Edited by BloodyShanglong: 10/18/2015 5:54:58 PMThe bad: I feel that this IB was poorly set up. Item drops felt like they were less than normal crucible. I'm at lvl 4 almost to 5 and still haven't received an IB drop. 3-5 games have heavy lag and Nightstalker glitchers. I mean the lag was so bad that it took 3 mins for my character to spawn in the middle of a ongoing match and this happened more than once. The Coolest emblem (Pride of the stag) was available at lvl 1 instead of lvl 5. You have no verity for gear perks, (like you did in previous IBs, two versions of boots ect. ) pretty much what you see is what you get. Over all this IB was sloppy and uninteresting. Plus the only IB mark that actually looks cool is the Hunters. The Titans Mark and Warlock bonds are just bland reskins of older items, just LAZY. The good: Weekly bounties were cool and a great way to get marks. That's it. Closing statement: This was the first IB for the TTK and for year 2 players and I firmly believe that this IB was an utter failure. First impressions are important for a reason.

1 ReplyI personally felt that primary weapon power mattered more than anything. I used a 297 Red Death for the first couple days and was struggling hugely, more often going negative KDR than breaking even or positive. Last night I switched to a 310 Last Word and even unleveled I was much more successful, ~2.0+ KDR's, and even more so once I leveled it up.

2 RepliesEdited by Sinner Saved: 10/18/2015 5:15:39 PMRuined by bow glitch, lag, and overall scrubs. Nearly every match I had to fight a team of 4 hardscoping snipers. The light made little to no difference, as a 300+ light I couldn't point blank 1 shot people, they were left with enough health to kill me. Lower light levels were able to one shot kill me from afar with their shotguns. Only loot I got was motes of light and the occasional gun with pathetic damage values.
-
I'm not sure about the light level advantage. It's a really cool idea, but the reality is, people don't usually bring under leveled characters into iron banner, so everyone is about the same power level. I noticed that lvl advantage graph has a shallow drop when the difference is small (the important part) and a steep drop off when the difference is large (the irrelevant part). Seems backwards to me. Really, the main reason I like the Banner is the win/loss dynamic. Since you don't get any rep for losing, you are motivated to win, but you get a medallion on loss that makes your next win beefier. That way, even if you go on a losing streak, your progression doesn't stagnate too bad. Regular crucible doesn't really care if you win or lose, and trials straight up resets your progress if you fail. IB has the best balance there, I think. On that note, could you put in a word with the quest design team about quests that undo progress (jolly holiday) and how they shouldn't freakin do that?
-
Hi DeeJ! To answer your question, no I do not particularly feel the level advantage. When going in as a 310, I didn't feel the difference as when going at ~300. Not sure if you HAVE to be 10 levels above to see results but I know that if I was lucky enough to get 310 I'd like to be god mode:) also I would like to mention my good friend Lag. He has been playing a lot of iron banner this week. As a matter of fact I think he was in almost every game. This was my experience. Other results may vary.

Fuk u pegboi
