Were you detecting an advantage attributed to your more powerful gear and weapons? Did the experience feel different than standard Crucible combat?

UPDATE: I know people quit games when they know they won't win. I'm more curious about your perceptions for how the power-level advantages work. Help me help you. Stay on target!

3 RepliesEdited by Soldier_372: 6/5/2015 2:16:05 AMAlso if I may recommend. No need in nerfing anything, but here is what we really need. Hunters need immunity when going super during the animation. Auto rifles need to be fun again and usable. I guarantee your stats show a sharp decline in auto rifle use. We have all these sweet auto rifles and can't use them cause we are getting rekt if we use them. Please don't nerf anything. Just give hunters animation immunities and buff the auto to make it viable and competitive please.

1 ReplyEdited by J of Core: 6/5/2015 2:10:56 AMHonestly, I was prepared to get wrecked since I'm still at 32. I expected to have a harder time, but so far I seem to be holding my own. Just gotta keep grinding for that etheric light at the end of the tunnel...
-
Horrible, I suck at crucible
-
The problem lays with people intentionally making their internet connections poor resulting in them being extremely difficult to kill. This is also an issue in your trials of Osiris mode. If something can be done about that it would be great, and make competing more fair.

Edited by BitsinCamaro: 6/5/2015 2:03:34 AMI've been playing each day with a 34 hunter, 34 titan and 33 warlock. There is a marked difference in the melee damage that I can give/take with the 33. On my first few matches on day one (immediately following the patch download) I wasn't getting rep gains for wins, but once I logged out of Destiny and logged in again it seemed to solve the issue but those initial rep gains I should have seen were lost. Posted here in the bugs section and a few people responded that they had the same issues.
-
Need more of a delta in light level effects. Want more of a difference felt at higher levels. 34 vs 32 you should stomp him.
-
The power level advantages are not existent. It was more important to have a fully upgraded weapon than to be level 34.
-
If bungie nerfs a weapon in PVP, it should not be nerfed in PVE. PVE players don't want their hard earned weapons brought down to tickle machines because they're too "OP" in PVP. I'm all for balancing out the PVP side of things weapon wise, but it shouldn't cross over into the side of PVE activities.

As far as level advantages, a one level difference isn't too bad, two is somewhat noticeable, three is a hugely bad idea. Even with Thorn, I don't see a 31 or 30 working out super well. I think my biggest annoyance is that so many just run from control point to control point and that feels like it costs more games than level advantages. 6 on 6 allows for a little buffering safety.
-
Honestly, it is no different than Control, which is fine with me. My problem is that the spawn points are MESSED up. I was just spawned three times directly next to the enemy or within full view of them. I am complaining about Thorn because I am just as liable to be killed by red death or some guy throwing peanuts at me. I do think that people use it a bit too much as a means to a theoretical easy kill, which sorta bores me on either a win or loss in the event. It also takes away from the tactics of the game by people just running in firing the thing. I think the big thing for me is that there have been too many games where I crushed it, but the team imploded and I end up getting nothing but the medallion when I would have thought I could get some credit for my efforts. You know, gee Donkey, your team lost, but you did pretty good, so here is some points for your individual effort. No worries though. I will hit rank V tomorrow and buy me another etheric light since it is pretty much my only personal way of getting it until raid drop is inplemented.

12 RepliesDont care dont like crappy pvp, hate crucible, iron bummer, and Trials of O'isis all equally.

It was a night full of Arc Blade, Golden Gun, Blink, and Shotguns. Nerf the Hunter already, Jesus.
-
The AOE of supers was the worst part. I could 2x jump in a direction from the caster(warlock or titan) in what seems to be 1/2 a second before impact and still die. To use a super right, you have to be quick and smart, to avoid one, just quick. Reduce AOE bubble so that a 2x jump(or at least an improved one) can save you. IDK I'd titans and/or warlocks have access to this kind if ability, but if they use a height based improved jump, they should also be safe (Mind the spelling errors)
-
Way too many people only using Thorn or hiding in high traffic areas with Shotguns. A little encouragement to use more variety in weapon choice would be good, or do something about Thorn.
-
Thorn fest, lag fest, some matches are great connection but too many are not. Have not ran into the whole other team is alive but yours can't spawn back in yet. Waiting for a PvP option where everyone gets the same guns and it goes back to being a game. For some odd reason there are weapons that are massively dominating when you have stated this is not Bungie's intention. I enjoy PvP even with out being MLG pro so I deal with it when I want to play. I got a rubber controller for when 3 shots of a golden gun straight into an enemy at point blank does not make a dent.

Edited by Unforgiven: 6/4/2015 11:33:06 PMHonestly. This Iron Banner sucks. Too many Thorn spammers, and everyone is using the Last Word and Red Death and Hawkmoon. Also too many shotgun spammers 1 shot you. Not to mention, matchmaking sucks, pitting players against premade teams to be slaughtered. Everyone simply rerolled their shotguns to get max range and shot package. Blink shotgun, blink shotgun. Half the time you are burning from thorn, or just running and boom shotgun get killed, the other half you didn't even know wtf killed you unless its Thorn. And when Heavy ammo comes out they simply super the heavy. GG.. And it makes you wonder why we even do this Iron Banner in the first place as the way it is now, its terrible. I remember back in the first two Iron Banners, I had a lot of fun. But now there are just too many tryhards. All in all it is worse than usual. And yea like the guy above said, power doesn't matter. I was getting slaughtered by level 31s. Also regular Crucible legendaries are dropping more than Iron Banner legendaries. You guys should fix that. I am only doing this shit to get a Felwinters lie
-
2 RepliesPower doesnt matter. The lag is terrible. Not getting rep most of the time. Yep its awesome good job.
-
Edited by TRDoug: 6/4/2015 10:48:59 PMLevel balancing for players below 30 is WAY to OP. I had to drop my light level to 31 to be able to kill anything, there's something wrong with a 26-29 being able to melee you twice and kill you. Also NO SHOTGUN should one shot. One shot to drop a shield and a follow up shot to finish someone off.

2 RepliesHey Deej - I wouldn't know because I don't like to play PVP. I can assure you that the larger reason anyone is even playing IB is for Etheric Light. Please give more Etheric Light to PVE players. Thanks
-
It felt no different than normal control to me, too much thorn, you guys need to look at weapons used statistics again and try to rebalance them
-
Nerf thorn and MIDA's aim assist, it feels like the gun is the one moving my right stick not me...
-
1 ReplyAOEs need a serious need for crucible. If I can improved 2x jump in a direction and still die, the sphere of AOE supers is far too large. That ruined day 1 for me
-
Other than the Lag Switching, the constant disconnects, and everyone using Thorn or shotguns, it was fancy CoD experience.
