Like the title says. It's insane. I haven't had a single match end 6v6. As soon as one side or another realizes they have the inferior team at least one but usually two or three people just leave. Thusly guaranteeing no chance of a comeback. Giving nothing for the loss was not a very bright idea. The leaving is worse than the usual crucible quitters by a wide margin.

1 ReplyEdited by XenBlue: 10/10/2014 3:46:23 AMI agree, it's a problem. But I would rather they leave than afk. At least when they leave early we get replacements. I think it's hilarious to see people who leave and then the team goes on to win. I understand why people choose to do it, given how things are set up. But for me personal integrity trumps rewards, that doesn't stop when I go online. Once I start a multiplayer team oriented event I see it through for win or lose. Afk'rs on the other hand are a special kind of problem. I'm old enough to know life happens, but in a match that only runs around 10 mins or so, if your going away more than 30 sec (and your playing public) just go to orbit first so you can be replaced. And those who afk the entire match, well... While we're on the subject, what's with the players joining matches just to dance, shoot, and troll their teammates? Twice today I've been teamed with someone who would randomly run up to a control point a shoot, spaz, melee, and generally annoy everyone. Then run away whenever an enemy appeared. Twice they go me killed by blocking my gunfire when the enemy ran up, or distracting me. At the end of the match they each had 0-1 kills, but they were active all match so weren't afk. Ugh. At least do that in patrol zones where it's nothing more than an annoyance. /rant

4 RepliesIf you are losing 12000 to 3000 and you know you're not gonna get anything for losing, why bother staying? Its not like you can make a comeback
-
you still get your standard vanguard or faction rep.. just like losing crucible.. what the big deal
-
I hate quitters too, but can you blame people for leaving? You get nothing for staying, so what's the point?
-
I stopped playing the iron banner, tired of getting first on my team but my team loses because they don't play the objectives.
-
They problem just got kicked to orbit. Happens a ton.
-
There's no incentive to stay in losing iron banner matches. This is exacerbated by the ridiculous amount of AFK'ers that now plague PVP. I'm sorry, but if my team is losing & there's 2 or more AFK'ers on my team, I'm rage quitting. I'm not taking a 6v4 (or 6v3) curb stopping because this game has a lazy community that wants to be piggybacked.

5 RepliesI hope bungie reads this and realizes that they need to implement a punishment for leaving. I think a 15 min ban from the event would be appropriate. That way anyone leaving would have to actually wait longer before joining a new game than if they just competed to try and comeback.
-
14 RepliesYou can blame Bungie for it as much as you can blame the leavers
-
Gotta put a payout in there. Even in the major leagues the losing team takes home a paycheck.
-
If we are losing by 5k points I leave. Very unlikely to get a comeback when the enemy team has 5k more points. I just want the rep, if I am not going to get it then why waste my time?
-
If my team is getting thumped and I receive an invite from someone on my friends list I will leave the game, but that's the only time.

7 RepliesEdited by Saboteur-6: 10/8/2014 5:56:02 PMI stay, even if the whole team leaves, because I'm a Titan, and we held the entire Six Fronts for you pansies.
-
2 RepliesHonestly, people care about a loss? I'd rather take the 10-12 rep for a loss than exit and start the matchmaking process over. What kind of impatient world do we live in now?
-
1 ReplyHad ppl left on me and once the new people join we won. Those who leave are doing you a favor they usual suck ass so f*ck them
-
5 RepliesEdited by worried uriel: 10/9/2014 9:33:18 PMI think you should get -10 rep for leaving. It's not a overly harsh punishment but it stops people quitting early.
-
6 RepliesPersonally I think there should be a timeout period for people that quit early. 10 minutes or so - nothing major but enough to make people stop quitting
-
4 RepliesHad a game yesterday where everyone left but me, and then some members of the other team tea bagged my corpse when I was inevitably steamrolled. Talk about poor taste. If I find that I am fighting someone that got abandoned I usually sit down somewhere and watch or start a dance party. I respect someone that finishes what they begin, all too uncommon in this day and age. Hey Bungie, how about a three strikes (leave three games in an hour, but remain online) and you get banned for 30 minutes from pvp. Plus a player rating system would be cool.

I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has come here and discussed things civilly. I appreciate it immensely and its turning into useful discussion.

9 Repliespardon me good sir but could you please squeeze a tear into this shot glass?

5 RepliesEven if i'm losing, I stay to add to my bounty score and besides, the losers get the better rewards.

3 RepliesEdited by Jmz: 10/9/2014 9:22:47 PMDamn right ill walk out if the team is losing. I have my crucible marks for the week so I stand to gain nothing from losing. Blame bungie for not giving ib rep to losing side. If im not motivated by a reward im not interested, I owe the people on my team nothing. I only wish that when I quit my score quit with me so the retards I was forced to play with can lose harder. Edit: I should specify that if we are losing by a small margin I do stay. I only quit when the team is fully shit and has no chance.

1 ReplyIt is a huge bummer. But I try to stick it out with my team. I left one today because my cat was sick and I had to damage control but mostly I stick them out. Sometimes it turns out okay. Earlier today I was on a team of 4 v 6 and me and one other guy carried our team to victory which felt pretty good considering I'm not the greatest. We came back from a 3.5k loss and it was kind of amusing. But I've been zoned in, match starts, we cap one base and the guy announces "You're falling behind!" and we are literally like 50 points down and people leave. I don't get that at all. Give up on the whole thing if your team isn't godlike within the first two seconds? I wish Bungie would at least grant the losing team like 10 or 15 points of rep so while it'd be slower for those players, at least it isn't screwing the whole team.
-
4 RepliesI never quit because my team is losing...never. I got no use for the people who do.

12 RepliesEdited by Subie Ninja: 10/9/2014 9:18:58 PMThat's the problem with giving people something for losing. They become self entitled little shits. It's not there fault it's they way people are being raised now. Example: kids play for a sports team and don't win a game all season but get a trophy for trying. Should be: the coach saying we didn't do good this year but you want that trophy don't you? Practice and get better so we can win it next year. But they already have a trophy so no reason too try and get better. It is what it is. Bungie shouldn't change it. but I see how is ruining the experience so they pretty much have too. Jmz is a perfect example of this. Lol

3 Repliesfor it's ok to the loser don't get rep, it adds to the competitive side of the game, but quiters must be punished, i'd say soomething like, if someone quits during a game the next 5 games in crucible they don't get shit, no rep, no marks, no loot, nothing, maybe the fear of passing so many games wothout rewards even after winning a match should stop the majority o quiters.
