Why does my look sensitivity change when I'm sprinting?

So, since halo 1, I've been cranking my look sensitivity almost all the way up.. It's pretty much the first thing I look for in an fps. Destiny's got that base covered (although sound sliders are MIA...). However, when sprinting, all of a sudden, my look sensitivity, drops to 2 or 3, when i have my senaitivity set to 9 or 10 and I find myself running into/against walls trying to turn around without stopping sprinting.. Mainly for shoulder charge.. Turning my sensitivity all the way up doesn't help, the lowered sensitivity seems to remain the same (doesn't seem to scale with the base sensitivity). Can we drop the lowered look sensitivity effect from sprinting or at least make it optional in the settings? Or is this part of the design? If it is, does someone with insider knowledge care to explain why it's there? What made it necessary?

In all console games, the sensitivity can be set, but at a fixed speed. I play a lot of Battlefield, COD and other games and they all feel good, with a consistent turning speed. Whenever I start playing a new game, the 1st thing I do is to double up the sensitivity from the default setting (the default setting are normally good when starting off). In destiny, the accelerated sensitivity makes for a very inconsistent experience. I have seen lots of people complaining about controller sensitivity, and this is the reason, so please review the sensitivity by making the turning speed constant depending on the sensitivity that you select, because everyone has a different preference that works for them. I have tried different sensitivity settings in Destiny, from 3 up to 10, but the inconsistent turning speed just makes for an, well, inconsistent bad experience.
