When I purchased the Ghost Edition of Destiny, I was given a code to an exclusive ship, the Valkyrie-O5X. According to everything on the box, and prior previews, I was told, by Bungie, that the Ghost Edition would include a unique ship.
Except...that couldn't be farther from the actual truth. As it turns out, the Valkyrie-O5X is a direct duplicate of a ship that is already in-game and attainable by normal means: The Aurora Lance. Heck, you guys didn't even bother to change the color of the ships! This isn't even trying, nor is it even remotely fair to the people who paid the $80-$150 for the extra exclusive content!
As you can see in the link, the ships are complete copies of one-another, save for the name and inventory icon. http://imgur.com/a/B1NB2
Was this a mere oversight, or was this an intentional misleading of consumers to move more Ghost Edition, Limited Edition and Digital Guardian Edition copies?
...Seems to me there has been a lot of "do this and hope nobody notices" kind of nonsense with Destiny's development and release.

And Aurora Lance was PS only for the first year.

Get rekt

4 RepliesWhat we should really be talking about is why you spent $80-$150 dollars on a ship.
-
Yeah, but the red ghost skin you get doe! Just kidding. All kidding aside, the ghost skin is the one thing I kinda like from seeing others with the CE; just wish ghosts skins could be made available to rest of us (sad panda)

1 ReplyFrom the latest patch notes - "Fixed a bug where the Valkyrie-O5X Ship was the same as the Aurora Lance" Yeah Bungie... A bug... Lol..
-
Did anyone else see in the patch that they fixed this "glitch"
-
I noticed this too. I'm not one of those people who cares if someone has the same thing as me, but I do not like being misled. Bungie's promotional material should have said exclusive ship name. I really was a die hard Bungie fan, and sharing my "exclusive" ship with people who got a RNG drop will not stop me from playing destiny. That said, my trust in Bungie has diminished and my blind faith is gone because of this and many other things with how they promoted this game and the difference of what we got in return.
-
I'm sorry but that's kind of comical lol. But in all honesty it's also pretty lame.
-
I noticed this about a week after launch and I, for one, am thoroughly upset. The EXCLUSIVE ship was a major selling point for me, and the exclusive ghost. Glad I'm now the only one annoyed with that.

1 ReplyI asked about this before release, fired up a forum post about it, asked at weekly mail sack, tweeted bungie and co.. I just couldn't believe they would be so lazy as to copy the exclusive skin from another ship, I thought it must be an oversight. Funnily enough I never did get a response about it all so wasn't surprised when I found out my exclusive legendary ship was just a rare ship with a different name. Soooo lazy bungie..
-
Yea, the exlusive ship and other items were kind of a huge cock tease.
-
You basically payed for the exclusive name, that's what it seems like to me
-
Wow. So lazy.
-
Dude my second day I found a rare ship in a chest and was so excited. Until I got back to the tower. Aurora lance. I was pissed like you cheap bastards, just renaming a ship for our "exclusive". And now I've gotten this ship again.
-
This may be the only real complaint i can agree with. Why advertise the ship if they are only going to change the name and color scheme to purple thus calling it legendary? Sure you get a supposedly free ship thats different than the default one with the DLC but they didn't at least bother to change the model or at least the color design of the ship?! It's like Bungie or whom ever responsible from their staff decided to slap this to the DLC to better advertise it or make it appealing to their customers to get more money out of it. Sure they gave short disclaimer but at least spice the ship style up a bit if we going to slap extras for added advertising that seemingly take little or no effort to do when changing the name and legendary status of the ship. Anyways thats just my 2cents, don't lower my drop rate game developers of destiny. I know you're watching me!
-
Apparently bungie didn't have enough money to make an actual exclusive ship, what a bunch of BS. The more things we find out what bungie did, the more upsetting it is
-
That really pisses me off now. If Redbull got sued for their slogan being false advertisement, I can sure as hell sue Bungie for this. I'm not going to, but I can. Bungie, fix your game
-
No no no you got it all wrong. The exclusive ship YOU bought, has the steering wheel on the left side, while the one found in chests is on the right side. Duhhh
:P
-
3 RepliesBungie should be ashamed
-
1 ReplyWho cares? Our ships don't do anything anyways
-
Lmao bungie ripped everyone off who bought that. That's fxcking horse shxt. Deej lol DEEEEEEEEJJJJJJJJJ lmao Why does Destiny fail so hard??
-
2 RepliesThe Aurora Lance is also one of the three exclusive ships to PS4 until fall '15
-
Was the first thing I noticed. Made me laugh my ass off. And I actually have it.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Skryblz: 10/7/2014 11:07:09 PMYup I have the Aurora, was a blueprint from a chest. Same exact ship, color and all. Same description too? Couldnt that be false advertising? I guess they would argue its a different name which means different ship.
-
2 RepliesIt was explicitly stated that limited and ghost edition would have no differing digital content. Only difference is the physical box and ghost. Do research next time. And color scheme is unique, so ship is unique.
-
1 ReplyUr ship is legendary. What else do u want?
