Love the idea! My roommate always has to tell me which have Arc and Void. It gets frustrating as hell!

I didn't even know shields were different... what is the purpose and look?

Void shields are Purple Arc is Blue Solar is Red It's a damage type that is limited to Special and Heavy weapons unless you are very lucky to get a Primary with it. It's Bungies way of adding difficulty, but is a minor fail because it's rarely implemented. My first encounter with even needing to care was with Queen missions.

Red aura : solar damage White aura : arc damage Purple aura : void damage Each damage type drops the shield that matches significantly more than if it were of a different damage type or if it were just regular bullets.

Ah ok, that makes sense. Otherwise kinetic will still chew them down, just not as fast.
