Do You no longer get Legendary engrams from leveling cryptarch?
So far ive leveled him multiple times since the cryptarch patch and only gotten blue from the mail. did my rng just die or do you still get legendary engrams from him?
if not it is now completely pointless to level him.

1 ReplyYes you can, just highly rare. Pretty annoying actually, my cryptarch is rank 31, youd think i would start getting good packages right? Nope, just 2 blue engrams and the same shader Every. Single. Time.

Edited by P2Mc28: 10/7/2014 6:41:18 PMYou probably get the same number of Legendaries from him as before the purple engram fix. (perhaps more? Though it may have just been clever wording on how things have technically always been.) Before, you'd get a purple engram, and it'd turn blue. But now, you just get the blue engram. When Bungie changed it so purples always turn at least purple, they didn't mean that you'd keep getting purple engrams out the wazoo. Just that all those old seemingly purples didn't lie about their color. I suspect whatever an engram contained was determined the instant the engram materialized, not when you identified it at the Cryptarch. So, when the patch happened, the items you got from ranking a reputation never actually changed - they just stopped pretending to be purple when they never were in the first place ;)

I've gotten roughly 8 legendary engrams from leveling the crypt arch, except that the majority of those were the crucible armors or items for classes other than my own

I got blues at 12 but then got 13 and 2 legends they were other classes but I need raid gear anyway

I get four blues. And the weapon engrams turns into lvl 16 shit. Im lvl27

Mine is lvl 34, he waz at 29 b4 patch an so far sine not 1 legendary, I have not got any legendary stuff since patch.

Im level 63 and let me tell you...it sucks all the way up...but you will occasionally get a purple...or three!

You do, but they are few and far between. I leveled up at least 10 times in a row, and only got blues. Then recently I got one Leg and one Rare. Turned into cryptarch and it turned into a shader. Kill someone

I was getting tons of legendary all the way up to cryptarch level 10, but I'm 18 now and haven't gotten a legendary since. I've gotten rares that he's turned into legendary, but no straight legendary engrams since level 10. I think it's just random coincidence, but still noticeable to me.

Instead of getting a worthless blue, I get shards or energy from legendary engrams. Id really like to get another legendary, been a while, but the ascendant material helps a bit for maxing my current great out.

I've had 2 legendary engrams from him since the patch and my friend has as well. Sounds like you're having a run of bad luck.
