Hey Bungie,
Being an avid player of Destiny it is very frustrating for me to come across shielded enemies due to the fact that I'm colorblind. Solar is fine, I can see that one, but when it comes to void or arc it's impossible for me to tell the difference.
I think it'd be a great addition to the game to allow players the option to display the type of shield the enemy has on the enemy's name plate. So essentially right next to their level maybe it just shows a little arc/solar/void logo, the same ones that are used to display the damage type in your inventory, right on the screen.
Thanks guys, let me know what you think.
See you all in the wild.

I'm not colorblind, but this is an excellent suggestion. Probably should go in the Feedback forum (tag it with "#Feedback"). Maybe an option in the settings to provide an alternate, color blind mode, with distinct color differences for the game (or, at least, for the parts where color distinction is an important part of gameplay)?

3 RepliesEdited by Miander: 10/8/2014 7:08:07 AMI really cannot tell the difference between the blue and purple shields, and for that matter engrams! colourblindness is never considered!

Maybe we can both post it in the feedback section.

I usually turn on colorblind assist. I'm not colorblind But the colors are more noticeable. So I like this idea

I'm not colorblind and I find this to be a great idea.

1 ReplyI made a post along similar lines a few days ago. I'd like the option to change the dot on all gun sights to blue. I find the tiny green/yellow dot on the suros for example is easily lost against the backgrounds on earth and venus. So yes. Agreed.

Battlefield 4, Call of Duty and even games like beweled have color blind support. Mostly is for distinguishing the blue and purple shields of the enemies.

I agree with this request. I am not colorblind but a friend is and he has always had issues telling the difference between green/red for the most part. But some colors just get mixed up. Sucks.

I said this the very first hour i got the game and i am not color blind. Happy to see other people in the comments have mentioned it too. Free bump

Here here! I mentioned this a few days ago and I am glad it is getting the attention it deserves! Without colorblind assist, some games are unplayable! Super Puzzle Fighter anyone? CoD hardcore? Any "matching" mini game? It's a simple fix really, like the OP suggested. Right now, elements are just something I ignore, like most shaders or the color of engrams. I might not ever get to see the beauty of a sunset, but I'd like to play this game properly. Cheers!

2 RepliesCall of Duty has color blind assist. It should therefore be mandaory for all games.

6 RepliesYou could just remember. We don't see the shields either until we shoot them usually, just a white bar above their head indicating they have one, yet I always know which element to use because I've played against the enemy before. You could shoot them with the 3 elements until you see one not saying 'resist' if you really couldn't figure it out. There's a very small amount of shielded enemies. In fact, there's only 2 per species, very easy to remember. Fallen: Captain-Arc Shank-Solar Hive: Wizard-Solar Knight-Arc Cabal: Centurion-Solar Psion-Void Vex: Harpies-Arc Minotaur-Void The end.

7 RepliesMajority of the destiny community players are not colorblind so i dont think bungie as a company would take this into perspective but i fully agree with you man. That would be amazing if bungie could implement a colorblind option. But ill pray for you bro and i really hope you get to enjoy the game equally. Battle On!

This would be awesome! I stuggle between Purple and Blue shields and colours of the engrams
