Hey Bungie,
Being an avid player of Destiny it is very frustrating for me to come across shielded enemies due to the fact that I'm colorblind. Solar is fine, I can see that one, but when it comes to void or arc it's impossible for me to tell the difference.
I think it'd be a great addition to the game to allow players the option to display the type of shield the enemy has on the enemy's name plate. So essentially right next to their level maybe it just shows a little arc/solar/void logo, the same ones that are used to display the damage type in your inventory, right on the screen.
Thanks guys, let me know what you think.
See you all in the wild.

Gather round children for DeeJ must hear us.

The shields never change. Solar: Shanks Captains Wizards Arc: Knights Harpes Captains Void: Minotaurs Those are just the ones from the top of my head. Other players can list others.
-
I too have the same problem being colorblind can be stressfull...

Gonna Rebump daily until it is a reality

2 RepliesThey could put a small icon next to the enemy's name tag (swirl for the void, flame for solar, saw blade for arc) just like we see in the weapon descriptions. That should help the folks who can't see the colors.
-
3 RepliesI am also colorblind, but there are only 3 different types of enemies with 3 different shields. It's not hard to know which type of damage you need for what. Captains/psions require arc, minotaurs/pretorians require void, and wizards/shanks require fire. That is literally all there is to it.

No disagreement here, hope for yours and others sake they do this.
-
excellent post 100% agree
-
Not only has this post identified the issue, it has supplied a possible soloution though what surprises me more is the distanct lack of troll or vile responses. I do hope they enact something that would enhance your gameplay experience. Good luck in finding a resoloution.
-
This is a real issue that bungie should consider
-
Makes sense. I don't see why this wouldn't be a reasonable option.
-
1 ReplyI have the same problem as well. I also have issues with the radar since the red blends with the greyish black circle and I have trouble with the red dot sights sometimes when they are really light

3 RepliesEdited by ChongCZH: 10/8/2014 4:39:27 PMI'll make it easier for you Fallen-arc Hive-solar Vex-void(certain harpies are arc) Cabal-solar(certain psions are void)

Yesssss thank you
-
Yes please. This would be an extremely helpful addition.

1 ReplyA thread in this forum that is genuinely honest, not a troll, and has people talking positively? I don't think deej allows this kind of stuff on the forum, better watch out before you non-trolls get banned for using forum magic..
-
Instead of saying what shield it is the fire shield should have the enemy on fire, arc would be electricity, and void would be the aora looking stuff thay way it looks better and colorblind people can still tell the difference win win

3 RepliesEdited by Approved Mod: 10/8/2014 4:24:33 PMI'm not colour blind and half the time I am using void on arc and arc on void. It isn't easy to distinguish the difference for us non-colour blind regardless. The only reason I have no problem is because I know all of the enemies shield type by heart now. However, I agree this should be an option for those that are colour blind. Vex: Minotaur (All variants) - Void Harpy Zelot - Arc Harpy (All variants except for zelot) - None Fanatic - None Goblin/Hobgoblin (All variants) - None Cabal: Special Psions - Void If shields (Not Psions) - Solar No Shields - None Fallen: Special Shanks - Solar If shields (Not Shanks) - Arc No Shields - None Hive: Wizard - Solar Knight - Arc Others - None EDIT:: Tanks to GiftedPenguin77 for reminding me about those awful psions.

Good idea man. I myself, would like to be able to change the color of my sight. I figured this game is set the future, and a option to change my HUD would fit in nicely.
-
1 ReplyMakes sense. Doesn't seem hard at all to implement. I also hope we can eventually change the color of our red dot sights because I'm a hand cannon player and the red dot gets washed out against the scenery on Mars or any brightly lit area anywhere else.
-
This should be implemented but let me lay it down for you and whomever else needs this information. This list will include the Epic modifier. FALLEN - Captains- Arc, Shanks- Solar. HIVE- Wizard- Solar, Knight- Arc. VEX- Minotaur/Pretorian- Void, Harpies- Arc. KABOL- Centurion- Solar, Psion- Void. Through my experience this is what enemy may have shields and what element to use to quickly destroy them. Captains, Wizards, Minotaur/Pretorians, and Centurions will always have shields. The second unit will have shields if the Epic modifier is on

Such an old troll post. It has been done long, long before you OP.

I myself am not colorblind, but I support since I have friends that are.

Edited by OffBillet: 10/8/2014 4:14:32 PMSo let me see if I have this right. I am fighting Vex with my Scout Rifle and a Knight pops up, so I switch to a fusion rifle with Arc, but don't have one equipped so I go to my character screen and check and find a sniper rifle with Arc, I go back after I re-spawn and look for the knight when a Wizard pokes its head around a pillar so I switch to a Machine gun with Solar, but I have a Rocket launcher with Void equipped so I go to my Character screen and find the Machine Gun with Solar, after I re-spawn I go back and find the knight is back, hey I have a sniper rifle with Arc on, one shot kill, meanwhile the Vex have me surrounded so I hit my Titan super and find I have my Defender on and trap them all in the bubble with me. After I re-spawn I hit the back button and mash Y. How about a simple guide from one of you experts. When fighting Vex have equipped? When fighting Cabal have equipped? When fighting Hive have equipped? If I try to remember every enemy I may as well just throw a grenade at my feet. Edit: In reading I think for me at least the easy way to remember is "Arc and Solar, Void for Vex and Psion"

Make it happen bungee

3 RepliesEdited by Sixclicks: 10/8/2014 1:23:20 PMDefinitely agree. I can't tell the difference between blue and purple shielded enemies at all. The same applies for blue and purple engram drops. The shades are just way too close for my colorblindness. The item backgrounds in the inventory are fine for me though; the purple is dark enough for me to tell the difference. This is unrelated to colorblindness, but also another setting that would be nice to have in game: the ability to adjust the sound levels of music, SFX, dialog, etc. separately would also be really nice. I have a mixamp for my headset, so it's not too big a deal for me, but so many of my friends who don't have a lot of trouble hearing fireteam/PSN party chat over the sound levels of the game. Music during fights can get especially loud.
