Destiny derps...what dumb stuff have you done lately?
Well, doing the Bad Juju bounty on Saturday...had to do 25 strikes. Well, a buddy wanted to go into the Crucible for a bit do I stopped with two strikes to go. On Sunday morning, i fished the two strikes and went to turn in the bounty. Imagine my dismay when I learned the next leg of the bounty entailed a visit to Xur, who had just left the night prior? Now I have to wait a week to finish up this bounty and it'll take up space in my inventory until then. SMH, I should've done some research.
So my fellow Guardians, tell us your own stories of derpitude...I need to laugh my woes away.
Edit: someone please tell Xur that the weekend is Saturday AND Sunday...

1 ReplyWell, I do some dumb stuff [i]on purpose[/i], because fun. I'm trying to level up the Striker subclass for my Titan because I've maxed out my Defender. Therefore, I have access to the Fist of Havoc... Me today: *battling Phogoth* *jumps up to one of the platforms above it* *points and waves to teammate...* *jumps/lifts directly over Phogoth, plunges straight down on top of it with Fist of Havoc* *dies almost instantly* :D

Playing control... went to take over an enemy control point. About 3 enemy swarm me and a titan throws up ward of dawn. I panic and use my super and kill all but one. Close range, so im blasting him with my shotgun but he just wont die, out of ammo, I start punching, he still wont die. I was starting to get pissed because He wasn't even fighting back. Took about 10 seconds for me to realize he was on my team.

6 RepliesWas doing the Weekly Heroic Strike with a buddy...he was getting chased by some prometheans and I told him to bring them to me...because I had my Striker Super ready to go (FOH)....as he and the Prometheans arrived, I slammed my fists on the ground to create what I like to call my circle of pain...t'was then that I realized I had switched to my defender subclass a while ago...needless to say popping a bubble shield was not what either of us expected and we both died tragically...inside the bubble.... ....and what's the moral to the story? .....bubble shields = hilarious death for all

Just yesterday, i was in the VOG with my awesome sauce group and we're cheesing the 1st boss by hiding behind pillars. I get the great idea i'm going to chuck a proximity grenade at him once he's shield goes down. I didn't make sure the detaining shield was broken before i threw the grenade. I almost died.

trying to finish exotic bounty that needed noodle face for..... only to realize when I log in at 6:05 central time SUNDAY..... noodle f'er hates central and had already left.... seriously it was still sunday....

1 ReplyI was on a 10 kill streak on crucible and was ready for any enemies. I ran to the control point the enemy was trying to take over, took out my rocket launcher and...WTF a teammate walks right in front of me like who do you think you are batman or some crap? when there are a billion people on the point and then I just kill myself...

They do Friday Saturday to help people around the world with their weekend. Anyways my team was destroying the Templar in the VoG stopping him from teleporting and it was almost dead when 4 people fell off the edge to their deaths. I followed suit with the relic. Embarrassing

Not exactly a derp moment, but still pretty hilarious. A hunter is jumping, and just when he activates his double jump I use blink strike on him. It sends him flying around 100 feet away off a ledge to his death. As he was falling he was trying to shoot me, but to no avail.

Was doing the VoG with some friends of mine, thought I was running Striker as my Titan, Went to go Fist-o'-Havoc the Mars transport plate and realized something. I was running Defender. So instead of using my momentum to boost forwards onto the platform, I dove right down into the goddamned bottomless pit. GG

had a couple randos leave at the end of a strike, so I figured Id finish it myself. Pounded on the boss for what seemed like forever. Got him down to were you couldn't see his life bar anymore, and figured id give him a rocket for the last and final kill shot. Didn't lean out from the wall I was hiding behind enough and blew myself up......went to bed after that one

1 ReplyMy buddy went AFK while we were patrolling venus. I decided to try my hardest to kill him. There were no cliffs nearby so that idea was out. So I pushed him into a corner and started ramming my sparrow into him as hard as I could. I finally boosted at just the right time and knocked him straight up into the air. He went so high that the fall down killed him. I laughed all the way until he came back.

I was soloing this week's nightfall and did the hard bit of clearing out the mobs. I went towards the prison cell to unleash the Archon Priest boss from the raised platform where the sniper vandal normally stands and jumped straight off the cliff. I facepalmed, sighed and just dived straight back in remembering to watch where I'm jumping! (finished it at the next attempt luckily!) I also raced to get to a public event on the moon only to drive off the same cliff 3 times, Only just made it in time!

Flipped my sparrow over several times recently - the most recent time the flipping was in limbo for around a minute and I was just kind of perpendicular to the ground as the physics engine eventually worked itself out. Keep getting myself wedged in awkward positions between walls and constructs in which I can't walk or jump out of, but eventually manage to sort of float my way out. Jumped over a pit on the moon to get to a loot cache, bounced on landing and nearly slipped backwards off of the ledge. I'm also waiting for Xûr for a bounty.

Ended my 9 kill streak by blowing myself up with my trip mine. Never start as a warlock and then switch to another class you forget that you grenades hurt you.

Tried to fist fight the fallen walker once. I broke his leg, he broke my face with a 105 mm tank shell

1 ReplyThis didn't happen to me, but I watched a bladedancer activate his super in the air near a ledge in Twilight Gap. I thought I was done for but he flew too far away before he could blink back so he died.
