It is not really slow at all. When I pvp, I am usually doing control matches. I have maxed marks with using the crucible for the first two weeks this game was out. These past few I have been farming relic iron and capping faster than when I was grinding control matches. For me, farming is almost 30% faster than pvp play. For others who excel at matches like rumble and can win it every time, they may be able to farm marks faster than farming. This just gives people another option, but it is definitely not slow if you take the right steps.
