Screw the Thorn bounty, it sucks
I'm stuck on the void damage part, WHY IS THIS SO BULLSHITLY HARD!? IM DOING EVERYTHING VOID SNIPER,VOID FUSION RIFLE, AND I STILL CAN'T GET SHIT DONE . EVERY TIME I GET A KILL I GET KILLED 3 TIMES MORE, ITS SOOOOOOOOOOO FRUSTRATING I WANT TO GOUGE OUT MY EYES WITH A SPOON

I am assuming you are playing a Hunter. I had that problem too until I realized my biggest problem. I was approaching Crucible as a BF4 or COD player. As a Hunter you have to play to your strengths. Avoid open areas, know ammo cache spawn points, and only go for kills that won't endanger you. Once I started playing a hunter and stalking prey, my KD ratio tripled. As others have said pick a secondary that you are good with. I hate shotguns (real life and in games), and oddly enough my void shotty just clicked for this bounty. If you use a Fusion Rifle, memorize the charge time and learn to precharge it before going around corners. I also recommend a Void Rocket Launcher with a 2 rocket magazine. I can recall so many times I barely missed the first shot but was able to follow up with a second. If you are using Bladedancer, the invisibility skills are extremely useful! Try Clash, decent team support. I mnaged to finish this bounty and the last part is even worse (unless you know the cheese strategy). Good luck.

5 Repliesyea the Thorn's bounty is one of the harder ones that I've done, just because of the sheer amount of time it takes to accomplish. Then to top it off the Thorn actually sucks. I've had much better rare hand canons. I read plenty of people complain about the Thorn's lack of power but I wanted to see it for myself and what everyone has been saying is true. I suggest that you find out for yourself as well and complete the bounty, I think that everyone should come to their own conclusions about the game and it's contents. But having said that I really cant wait for Bungie to buff it.

Play control, hands down the easiest way to get kills. I got that part of the bounty done in 6 games doing control

8 RepliesYes. I dismantled my bounty once I got to that part too. Pissed me off so good almost quit Destiny all together. Not everyone is able to get 20 kills and zero deaths. It's crazy how much you need to do to get when you think about it.

I did it last nite. Took me about 3 hours. I had to use my sniper for all 500 points. Im good with a sniper but was tough not to pull out my primary gun at 5 ft away. Youll hate the part after that bounty. Took me 2 hours to get the guy to spawn that i needed. yorkie

I gave this one up. Not worth the frustration. I'd have a better chance of curing cancer than getting this bounty done.

I got to 480 and the bounty dispeared? the next day I also lost ascendant shards and energies

It only took me 7 games, but then again I'm consistently at the top 3 in the lobby and I normally go on average 20-5

Edited by brewsntattoos: 10/4/2014 5:51:30 PMi think this is the part where they wanted us to be able to 'create' stories of how we got the weapon, and become legend. if it was easy, everyone would do it. void shotty or fusion. make sure you have a void heavy, and if you are lock or titan, you get void supers and nades, which count towards it.

1 ReplyI did mine by grabbing a fireteam and running skirmish. Just play it careful and camp corners if you have to. Take it slow and you'll get it. Be brave.

Fortunately, Thorn is a mediocre weapon so all that effort won't pay off and you could get a superior hand cannon for 150 vanguard marks! Don't worry, though. They're going to buff it. I'm currently holding my breath!

7 RepliesIts not that hard. Hard part is xyor. But honestly thorn is an ugly gun. In photos and the icon it looks good but in your hand, its one ugly son of a gun lol. I dont use it cause I hate looking at it. Give me anothet exotic or legendary handgun anyday.

That part is easy the next and last part is the hardest but if you have the right team you'll get it.[spoiler]look at my beautiful thorn in my primary weapon slot isn't it previous?[/spoiler]

It's an exotic bounty, it's not suppose to be easy, albeit, a bit too difficult.

Really because I just did mine in 2 hours. Sure it killed my K/D but whatever.

Two words...."Git Gud". No but really its not that hard. Its actually really fun. All exotic bounties are.
