Good productive post, but I personally prefer to just play Crucible than waste collected materials to gain marks/rep/glimmer. I just find myself needing those materials mostly for all the weapons and armor pieces I end up getting. Relic Iron and Spinmetal is what I am always short on, and Spirit Bloom is what I have most abundantly. I don't relish the idea to go out and farm any of those materials, but if I am doing a Patrol Bounty, then I will pick up chests and resources along the way. Or if I need the materials for a specific weapon/armor then I go patrolling as well.
