But see that's the point. The people willing to do this are willing to put in more time and effort then you are doing it the normal way. They're willing to turn in precious material and then go back out and farm more of it as an alternative. Same if not more work for the same out come.

The simple solution is to go out and farm materials then turn them in for marks because they don't have time to use my method. My method is for the most efficiency possible and rewards the most in the long run, but it takes time.

I don't know about that. If your constantly losing, are not enjoying yourself while losing, and are the games are taking forever it might be more efficient and fun to go material farming only.

I never said it would be enjoyable. The idea of being rewarded through effort rather than clicking on plants and gathering just to turn in is far more demoralizing than the crucible. Once you've turned in all those materials, you're going to turn right back around and gather them all over again to upgrade your armor.

I find it to be less demoralizing. Crucible if you suck you lose all the time. No one I know likes to lose all the time. Farming on the other hand I get to win by shooting enemies in the face, getting random loot drops, finding chests with more loot and I can stop and dance for a moment with a random stranger without them blowing my face clean off.

I find it the same way in the crucible. It's only a disparity if the other team is stacked, and during the day there's a rare chance that happens even in skirmish. Out in the world it gets dull very quickly since most of the locations I have been through already when I was doing strikes.

I can completely see that as pvp is always unpredictable and different even if its the same arena. However, the original post was meant for folks that fall into the above category. We find getting repeatedly owned in the face over and over slow and monotonous compared to farming. For us its more efficient and more enjoyable running laps on venus or in russia then hugging the floor in pvp.

Not that I agree with farming materials for marks, since I agree with you on the uses of materials; however, who are you to say what is demoralizing for somebody else. That word has pretty much different meaning for every individual. You do you, let them do them.

It's a general consensus that playing the game versus collecting materials is far more enjoyable. Unless someone just bought the game to go around and collect stuff.

Collecting materials [u]is[/u] playing the game, sir. When you turn the game on, no matter what you do IG, you are playing Destiny. Hopefully the [i]way[/i] you choose to play is fun and gives you enjoyment, otherwise it's not really a game anymore.

Your logic is flawed. He is playing the game. Just not the way you do. I hate crucible too, my son loves it. Id much rather do patrol and pick up stuff when I see it to boost my vangaurd rep AND give me a way to earn crucible marks at the same time. Even if you dislike his idea, it has merit in practice. I appreciate him sharing the idea.
