I literally would sooner stab myself in the throat with a rusty fork than farm materials for marks.
You can make 100 vanguard marks on public event farming at 16/hour without really trying. You can probably make that 20 or 24 with some luck and a fast sparrow!
I'd expect 1000 materials of any sort to produce about 30/hour on a good run? Even if that was consistent that'd mean 34 hours to get these marks.
You can get crucible marks just by participating in matches, you don't even need to be good.
farming materials for marks is odd, but I guess at least those that like chest runs can get legendaries from it in a round about inefficient use of time sort of way.

This was posted for people who HATE PvP. While you and I have no issues with the Crucible there are those who do not enjoy that part of the game. I have a lot of friends that it just becomes a point of anger and dislike for the game. To preserve that so that dont get pissed and throw the game away they stay away from the part of the game that stresses them out. I dont blame them and to be honest, I like competition in the Crucible not someone running around being a bullet sponge because he sucks at it anyway.

What is the best place to collect spin metal? I already have about 25 and I feel like it's easier since its on Earth. -oc-jay4, Light Level 22 Warlock

Did you read the part where I said I farm an average of 150 relic iron per hour? You need 1000 to cap marks, 1000/150 = 6.67 hours. That is only an hour a day. Can you honestly say that you max crucible marks playing the crucible for just an hour a day? That's 4 matches if you win/lose before timers expire on a few. If you can, that's great! I can't. I play Crucible still, but I would rather not bang my head against the wall when lag hits. That material node won't try to kill you or run away. ;)
