Those planets would not make any sense to be included - they are gas planets, there is most likely nothing to land on (and if there was, you wouldn't be able to see anything anyways and there is absolutely nothing able to live or withstand their atmosphere). Best theories right now point to a (relatively to the overall diameter) very small MOLTEN core. Not a solid chunk of rock. Atmospheric wind speeds upwards of 1000km/hour.
Mars, the Moon and Venus all make sense scientifically (Venus could theoretically be turned into a much more hospitable planet than it is currently, and Mars once had an atmosphere which allowed liquid water on its surface, and the Moon has no atmosphere at all so as long as you are protected from the solar radiation and have an oxygen supply, you're fine). The Jovian planets do not make sense at all.
Getting some of their moons, though... That would be epic. Imagine standing on Titan and getting a 'Saturn Rise?' Amazing.

2 RepliesDo you think bungie give a damn? There's no gravity on the moon and a crucible map on mercury There are also little floating orbs who can revive people as many times as they want So I think it's not far fetched to visit these planets
-
There bring them out so stfu, if you look at those card things ypu can clearly see Jupiter and mercury and Saturn are cards

30 RepliesEdited by cbjoe: 10/2/2014 3:42:36 PM"they are gas planets" On the contrary. This is a popular misconception arising from high-school level astronomy. Saturn, for example, almost certainly has a solid core comprising an exotic state of "metallic" hydrogen even if it is pure gas. Furthermore, the prevailing core accretion theory strongly indicates that on the balance of probability the planet has a dense rocky core because anything less would be unlikely to have sufficient gravity to form and sustain a gas giant. Saturn also has rings comprising solid matter including huge objects, and moons, as does Jupiter including Europa which is in fact the most likely location in the known universe outside Earth for life to exist! We won't know for sure what is inside a planet like Saturn or Jupiter until we send a successful probe inside, and until then it is fair game for science fiction anyway. Similarly, Uranus and Neptune are ice giants. They are solid planets that humans could visit and walk on and probably will one day. They are also large planets and have plenty of water which may exist in liquid form in certain areas. There is no scientific obstacle to visiting these planets in Destiny. I would also like to see the game go beyond our solar system and explore other stars and even other galaxies.

I would like a story that makes sense more than other planets right now

There is supposed to be land or installations on Saturn (seemed weird to me too once) but it is a grimore card so it possible
-
1 ReplyI'd rather have a decent story than more planets right now...
-
2 RepliesUm, none of the planet in this game were habitable before the traveler either. How do you know he didn't teraform those too? Have some imagination...
-
Already been confirmed look in grimoire

Winner winner chicken dinner. Its science fiction, bro.

1 ReplyEdited by TheBlackOne: 10/3/2014 11:31:11 AMDid you really just compare a video game to real life?
FACE PALM
but
what if i have a strong desire for uranus?
-
Yeah but this is fantasy. There are no killer robots, Venus has no gardens, Mars doesn't have roads, and the moon isn't colonised
-
Checkout warframe. Also jupiter would be good, grimorie mentions it as a dwelling place for the manifestation of the darkness.
-
1 ReplyI got the Jupiter grimoire card from finding a dead ghost, and it definitely described some kind of base on Europa.
-
4 RepliesThe story goes that the traveller changed everything which makes planets like Jupiter that were just a ball of gas habitable with a surface
-
Read a grimoire card about the "Nine" and some of those came from the waters of Europa it said. Levithan creatures and such. Even mention other species like the awoken to joined the Nine
-
We are getting Saturn though o_o it's a grimoire card in the locations category
-
Well, according to the opening cut-scene, The Traveler changed the nature of planets. For example, Mercury was turned into a garden world. A place with an Extremely blazing hot surface temperature and days that last like hundreds of earth days lol. Anyway, I'll take as many locations as they can put in the game. Moons and all.
-
They don't mean the actual planet dude, that would be ridiculous for obvious reasons, they mean going to the planet but playing on something like an abandoned ship or fleet.

8 RepliesEdited by The Only Jish: 10/3/2014 2:43:49 AMImagine seeing a 'Jupiter Rise' on Io with tons of volcanoes erupting on the horizon. That would be insane.
-
People should be asking for Mercury. I mean, I can practically guarantee we'll get it. There's already a PvP map set on Mercury (The Burning Shrine), and they have a ship arrival and orbit animation already in the game. It's not a stretch to think we'll get Mercury mission and strikes.

2 RepliesEdited by BVRPLZR_: 10/3/2014 2:22:49 AMYou have no idea how badly I want Uranus though...
-
3 RepliesThe excuse would be that the Traveller Terraformed it. That's all they would have to do. Look what it did to Venus supposedly. Personally I think it would be pretty awesome to be running around on Saturn and be able to look up into the sky and see its ring. That would be sweet.
-
I can ask for my anus whenever I want.

I'm glad you said the moons. I think this is what most people are thinking of, but they lack the backgound knowledge. I think pluto would be neat if it was dark because it is so far from the sun. It could be a little bit of survival horror by ghost light.
