If anything there should be an "apology discount" sort of like the loyalty discounts you can find. (5 dollars to upgrade mine craft to Xbox one (Digitally) if you had the 360 edition)

That would have to be a patch though, because if they tried to release it as a different version of the game it would have to be treated as an entirely different game.

I think it'd be better to release it as a different game. Theres too much they'd have to change (and its quite frankly too late to change it) for the revision to be a patch. I would however, encourage a discount for those who bought the original game, as to avoid an outrage from those who did so.
