I will be the first to tell you I am terrible at PVP. Like me many others do not play crucible so the negative penalty to the void kills crucible bounty is insulting. Forcing us to play mediocre pvp is grueling. I can only play a few matches before I'm falling asleep. The pvp and pve aspects of this game are too intertwined. Give me a better challenge than binge playing bad pvp. I have real life stuff to do. Seriously bungie what happened to you?

I'd say it took me 6 hours (at most) of crucible to finish the 500 void weapon kills, and I'm a hunter so I don't have void grenades or supers. My best suggestion is to use a sniper rifle. Helps a lot if you know where there are good spot, and if not, a fusion rifle isn't too bad either.

3 RepliesI abandoned it. I don't play PVP. It has no story. Just a competitive game. I came here to get lost in the world. Defend the human race. Not to get shot at by other players.

Weapon bounties should be the primary way to get exotics. You follow their story or how they were made. With that said, each weapon should have a vanguard line and crucible line. The PVP can be painful at times.

I loved the thorn bounty. It took me a week of casual playing and one day of void sniper only PvP to get it done. I've had 4 exotic weapon bounties so far, and I loved this one the most because it forced me to switch up my style when I was PvPing. TBH, there is nothing I hate more than being able to get gear for nothing. It cheapens the game and makes me want to put down the controller for good.

Edited by GhilKlinWar: 10/21/2014 11:16:18 PMI did the one (of the two) that do not require PvP and now that I have it I just delete the unwanted (and to me useless) bounties I get. This was just one more step towards isolationism programming that the game suffers from. Ironic considering that they need some isolation when it comes to presenting a split set of gear for the different modes (PVE and PvP gear) so that they can maintain balance without nerfing one or the other - not to mention giving us a second set of gear to grind for. All I have to say is
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!!!
-
I did this bounty in under 24hours.
-
Gah...getting the void kills as a hunter took forever. Now stuck on the strike at the end.
-
3 RepliesI DID IT! Thorn only excepts those who are worthy! If you can't play crucible for a few hours then you are a pathetic weakling who is to lazy or too lame to even comprehend the power of THORN! goodbye...
-
2 RepliesWhen compared to other exotic bounties it is a bit extreme, I mean lets compare it to invictive, the PvP part for that is just kill 25 more people than you've died, compare to kill at least 100 with void damage plus another 3 (2?) people for every 5 times you've died. With void damage.
-
4 RepliesThe pvp is the easy bit wait till you get to the strike on the moon, level 26 very hard I can't get past that.
-
Also try finding a void shotgun and practise even just do two matches with it a night you will get there. :)
-
Looks like you'll never do the fate of all fools exotic bounty. Almost the entire bounty is done in the crucible with having to use a scout rifle
-
3 Replies80% of the exotic bounties require pvp. If anything the bounties should promote more pvp challenges, PvE is the boring and repetitive mode. Anyone can beat a computer controlled monster giving enough time
-
I've got the exact same bounty and I'm in the exact same situation.. Sucks balls
-
5 RepliesCan someone tell me how you get these exotic bounties?
-
It's really not that bad
-
Sorry you don't like the pvp. I think it's excellent and a blast to play, and smartly entwined into the pve world as to not feel unconnected. I get that picking maps and customizing settings would be great, but I can live with it for now and have high hopes we will get some more options in the future. Only thing I don't like is that there is little incentive to do well, you only get one more crucible mark for winning, loot is completely random, and no special rewards for scoring high.

1 ReplyGoodluck man, glad you are starting to improve. If you lurve HC's like me, then the Last Word is the way to go.Thorn is good, but only when it's upgraded >.> ... Love the look of it though
-
3 RepliesThe entire bounty isn't too bad, but the weapon itself is a huge disappointment. I've gone back to my legendary hand cannon until I see what the buff is for Thorn that Bungie said was incoming
-
14 RepliesI did that part of the bounty in 3-4 games...just get better and you'll be ok
-
I got my thorn yesterday. The void damage thing was a grind. Good thing I did it as a warlock! I got most of the advancement through melee kills.
-
1 ReplyI suck at pvp too but managed to do it in 3 days it's really not that bad just get a void fusion rifle with a decent charge rate and you'll see it's easy to get kills.
-
2 RepliesYou want that Exotic? Than You have to earn it. A Little bit of PvP, no big Story. Im a PvE player and hate PvP but the Void Quest is easy.
-
9 Repliesit would be nice if Bungie could respond on this, maybe in the weekly update, there are more an more posts about exotic bounties each day, as more and more players have them taking up slots now
