Christianity is a religion of peace. Prove me wrong.
T4R. You can't. I feel it's time some of the ignorant haters learn what Christianity is actually about because I'm absolutely sick of reading false accusation after false accusation pertaining to Christianity.
ATTENTION:
THE CRUSADES IS NOT A VALID ARGUMENT.
Christianity as a religion does not condone murder or even killing in the name of Christianity. The decision to fight was made by the pope. The pope OBVIOUSLY does not control the religion. To be a Christian, you must follow Jesus Christs' word. Jesus never condoned killing. Therefore the pope went against his own religion in ordering a war. The pope does not have more say than Jesus. The pope does not control the religion. He is was nothing more than a man in power and a hypocrite. You can not blame a religion for being evil when individual people who can do whatever they want do something bad and affiliate themselves with the religion.
I mean If you're going to do that then:
A guy who lives to eat fried chicken kills someone. So people who eat fried chicken are evil!
It's stupid.

It says that all children are born into bondage due to "original sin". Most of Christianity's symbols are, let's say, "borrowed" from previous pagan religions to help them assimilate. Both are at constant turmoil but cannot be without the other. To say that God does not exist is naive, but to say that science is a counter-active to God is stupid. The simple fact is that devoting yourself to a religion only separates. We know that there is, but we argue too prove it is "our" is. The same way children in high school bicker among groups. It is simple psychology to not like the people over the river, but the sad fact is that "original sin" can simply be explained by our own psychological flaws as a society. Some of us want to take their bananas, instead of finding a way to farm a lot more bananas. Some people learn to fear the power above, or below; and some learn to fear it in themselves. But I suppose the only way to know what a society without religion would be like, would be to live in one. MY POINT IS THIS; all religions are peaceful, and all can be violent. We as a society wage war, religion is just the easiest excuse.

Imho anyway. 2 humans who are complete and total strangers towards you, have done something an all powerful being (that created the universe and knows everything) doesn't like. Even though you didn't choose them to represent you, you will be burned and tortured forever. Unless you accept another person who is also a complete and total stranger towards you. Not to mention there is no evidence for any of that, other then hearsay and anecdotes. Which makes it a hard claim to accept. But if you don't accept it you be tortured, because you deserve it, because 2 people did something an all powerful being didn't like. :-\

I try to see it this way but I usually find it more like this. God supposedly gave us free will. However if we don't choose to accept Jesus then we burn in hell. If we become a good little puppet then we get to go to heaven. We are all just puny pawns in gods game. Seems more like a government than a religion.
