Obviously pandering to the majority opinion around the internet. If you fall for this you're an idiot.

 • "I discredit this based on the fact there's no glaring proof that this is an 'official employee/ex employee'. I lack intuition and can't even formulate a slightly elaborated opinion because I induces a headache." TLDR; you.

 • Of course I discredit this based on no proof... It's called being skeptical and it's a darn good quality to have too. To believe in something completely without any evidence is just stupid. I definitely have intuition... It's all in that statement I just made. I read it and my intuition told me it's crap because there's nothing that says otherwise. It seems you lack a little bit of reading comprehension or at least a vague understanding of the meaning of the words you're using.
Of course I discredit this based on no proof... It's called being skeptical and it's a darn good quality to have too. To believe in something completely without any evidence is just stupid.
Skepticism works both ways. To believe a PR response from a corporate representative that contradicts the only evidence we have about the nature of this anonymous commentator's claim (circumstantial though that evidence may be) is just as foolish as believing that said anonymous commentator's claims are accurate - especially when the corporation has a vested interest in denying these allegations, should they in fact be true. Consider the following. Although Activision and Bungie have recouped their expenses for this game, vanilla Destiny is just the entry note into what is intended to be a 10-year multibillion-dollar franchise. As such, they need to keep hype high, players invested, and public opinion favorable if they intend for their series to be THE major console gaming series in the 2010's decade, as Halo was between 2000's. If the game did in fact suffer a last-minute redesign and hasty rewrite to meet Activision's marketing demands and the misguided egotism of Bungie's team leaders, as the anonymous reddit commentator claims, this news would be (or is, and will be) disheartining and disappointing to the playerbase - because regardless of the quality of the current release, people will know that it could have easily been much more than it was and lose interest. This is a worst-case scenario for Activision/Bungie, since a disinterested playerbase won't buy DLC, won't become hyped about future Destiny games, and may even write unfavorable reviews about the game, further spreading the disappointment and anti-hype to players and potential players who may not have been previously aware of any discrepancy between 2013's advertised content and 2014's actual content. Therefore, with their collective reputation and the billion-dollar future of the Destiny franchise at stake, you can damn well bet that Activision/Bungie will be proactive about countering any claims that might suggest that their game is a hollow shell of its former self - and what better way to discredit an online opponent than to brand them as a troll, especially when what little evidence there is doesn't support your PR story? So, can we really trust DeeJ's claim that the anonymous reddit commentator is a troll with no knowledge of Destiny's development? With both Activision and Bungie's reputations and bottom lines on the line, saving face is far more important than honesty. EDIT: One final note to illustrate how dramatic a bad launch can damage corporate reputation and corporate profits. Example? SWTOR. Massive Star Wars MMO made by EA/Bioware to be a story-intensive WorldOfWarcraft-killer, with one of the biggest budgets and most expansive ambitions of any game to date. The game was rushed a bit, however, and within a few months of launch, the game was being abandoned in droves by its players, who vilified EA/Bioware as they left. With little subscriber revenue and their reputation in tatters, EA/Bioware fired their dev team (who, admittedly, were arrogant with the community and therefore a part of the problem), made the game limited-free-to-play, and slashed the budget for future development. This, in turn, led to most of the planned future content being shelved or trashed, slowed the rate of new content releases, and led to numberous predictions of the game's imminent demise. However, the new dev team (who possessed that most elusive of qualities, humility), made the most of EA's token budget and started to slowly turn the game around to where it stands today, two years later, a respectable and profitable moderately-good quality MMO with a well-received expansion behind them and another (potentially good) one on the way. However, it never managed to shed the stigma of being a failure of a game staffed by arrogant fools - which is precisely why Activision/Bungie would never admit to anything officially that would elicit a horde of disappointed fans to put Destiny aside and lose interest in future content, as the stigma from being discarded by the community isn't something that can be shaken off easily, even if you step back, fix your mistakes, and rework your game until the final product, viewed objectively, is no longer disappointing when compared to the initial expectations of the playerbase.
