Man, it does give a very logical explanation for the absence of any context or backstory surrounding the Exo's and the Awoken, as well as the various factions. Their current existence is embodied only by a couple of npc's in the Tower. And the only way to do stuff for them is by wearing their cape and doing regular stuff. You might as well have omitted them. Why on earth come up with a playable race that lives in a place that doesn't exist besides being stated on the map screen, together with a couple of cutscenes that are our only exposition to the nature and origin of the queen and the awoken? It also does explain very well why players have to resort to grimoire cards for some backstory on what the hell is going on! The game should tell us this, implicitly and/or explicitely. I'm sure more points could be made.
