I have been paid as a tester and I have also been paid as a programmer thank you very much. [spoiler] either way it doesn't make either one of our opinions more valid than the other or anybody else on here[/spoiler]

Im a web dev and I think its night and day between professional QA and developers. I simply dont have the fortitude to do test scripts forward, backward, sideways. Id rather attack the puzzle. Ive done testing before and can say from my self-appraisal it was half fast because i was thinking how dis they code this. Full time testers are a breed of their own.

I'm more of a glorified manager for a small team now. but I can't help but think back to those days and wonder how everything is going on in the game. seven years doesn't seem like a long time but when you're talking about something that moves as fast as this industry does it's more like 60 years lol edit and I'm more than slightly jealous of all the new tools they have to make things that used to take a week take 20 minutes. oh the engines.
