Why so much hate on Queen's Wrath?
Why is there so much hate on Queen's Wrath? It adds to the extremely limited amount of late game gear, makes it possible where before it was close to impossible to get legendary gear all the while not guaranteeing it, and adds a new vendor with some shaders and armor to the tower. And this came out what, two weeks after the game did. Now I know that you complain that there is not enough content but the fact that they had content ready two weeks after launch and it was free should be enough for you guys.

1 ReplyWhile I sorta agree with you I must point out: Queens missions added no new content. Just rehashing strikes. You saw not 1 new thing, just more of the same. Not a huge feat to roll out. The armor is 2 pieces. Whats left is a ship and a sniper. People were mad because they at first were able to get shards from the armor. That was removed as an option. So now we all break down legendary armor and get sapphire wire and some glimmer. If you got all the items or just the ones you wanted all these missions will provide is some XP for your toon. It makes the reward not worth the effort, rendering the "new content" useless to those that have the gear already. Yes, it helps the mid 20's grab some legendary I get that. We all do. It just would be nice to have a reason to do her missions over strikes is all once you are beyond that point.,

Pushing past whether this is "free" content or not there are a few things that make this event not so great. The additional space to the tower was appreciated despite it adding little functionality to the tower since it is a gorgeous view of the mountains with a dazzling ship and the Queen's banners marking the sky. Visually it's great but all this visual work is wasted on a vendor who is more useless and static than the many other useless vendors in the rest of the tower. the weapons are a nice find I suppose but they are tied to the Queen's faction which anybody with standing in another faction will be far better served going to the other faction vendors instead of leveling up a faction that will not be here past the 6th. Yes the shaders are nice (GOLD YA$$$$$) and I don't care for emblems personally and then that is pretty much it for the Emissary -_- her selection of items is abysmally small nuff said. The bounties are a nice addition for those wanting more Exp bonuses to lvl gear and pass the time but the actual Wrath missions are simply the story missions on Epic, not particularly exciting after a few runs. At first though I didn't mind since I jumped from lvl 22 to 25 and I was getting upgrade materials even after I had gotten all the items and then the hot fix happened and caused players to have a sour attitude towards this event and killed any incentive for anybody past lvl 26 to play after a few runs. Still it gave me a day of stuff to do and I don't think Bungie expected anybody to play this all the way to the 6th but for stuff like this to be the things Bungie has in store to tide us over till the DLC I can't wait any longer for Patch 1.02 to drop

1 ReplyEdited by Entropy91: 10/1/2014 12:09:42 PMThe actual armor rewarded has comparable base stats to the Vanguard, Crucible, and Faction armors, so there isn't much point in temporarily losing light levels and defense to level that gear. And in terms of stat boosts, the Queen's armor is actually worse for me than my current set. Now originally, it was a useful source of Ascendant Shards, which aren't easy to come by, and high-level players need a lot of them to upgrade their gear. Since it was patched, no shards, removing 100% of my desire to actually do those missions. If they simply added Shards into the loot list for the mission after taking them off the armor, I'd be cool with that and still do the missions. But as it stands right now, the Queen isn't paying me, so I'm no longer doing work for her.

Not only is it just another excuse to do the same things over and over again, but it's also another chance for them to force players to do both PvE and PvP in order to get the most out of it.

3 RepliesI've done about 20 missions and got 12 helms and 8 chests... Have 10 or so tickets before I do any of her bounties today. Cant even be bothered to do them anymore.

2 RepliesThey could have had us answer her call at the 1 spot on the reef we have BEEN! can could have defend against an attempted invasion. But we get same lame missions to do for a change of loot.... C'mon they can do better than this. I like the game, but it is becoming a pain.

It was insanely easy, if the QW gear was better than Vanguard or there were guantlets/leg armor available you might have a point. For most people the reward is worse and uglier gear than you've already got, that's why there is hate. New content should serve a purpose for everyone, it doesn't.

2 RepliesI honestly think there needs to more queens bounties available or be more available more often. Ive done probably 20+ bounties and I have hit rank 1 and am 2000xp away from rank 2... I don't know if I will be able to make rank 2 before October 6

Edited by Mvffin: 9/30/2014 10:13:04 PMIt's ridiculously time consuming to be able to get your faction rank to 3, especially with the pvp bounties. Also, very little incentive to run the kill order missions, especially if you already have a decent helm and chest.

I just hate how useless the tickets are after you get what you need. No rep for the stories so why keep doing them if your full legendary and have a ship and sniper.. at least still give me rep come on.

It just kind of misses the initial wave of people who are chewing at the remnants of the current endgame, which is the larger mass of "dedicated" players, who make up most of the forums. Also I'm incredibly incensed that the ship isn't the actual Awoken ship like you see in the Reef and behind the merchant.

2 RepliesI think they wanted to add a way for players to easily gear their alts, but not too easily. There's only head and chest armor from what I've seen, but that alone is a pretty nice boon.

2 RepliesOnly real hate that people have for Queen's Wrath is that they removed the ascended shards from the gear you get from doing the missions. The bounties are perfectly fine( except that the rep only goes to the queen faction even when you wear a faction class item ).

It recycles one of the early game's missions and beefs it up to resemble a Strike in difficulty. Thus it feels like a shallow experience to me and so I've decided I'd stick to my normal play method and perhaps attempt the Queen's Wrath with a full fireteam.

Oh not to men5ion someone thought it would be a good idea to make it so you cant get ascendant shards from dismantling the same helmet youre gonna get 50 times in a row. did I mention how much common sense bungie has lmao? By how much I mean absolutely none. Queens wraith is comepletely pointless and a waste of space on the disc and your xbox.

6 RepliesThe content is meh, and there I'd little incentive to do it. Some bright purple shaders? Some emblems? Meh. Unless you want them there's no reason to do it. Crappy level 20 rare weapons? Legendaries that look awful and don't breakdown into shards? Meh. Bounties that are hard as blam for these lackluster rewards? I would call this new content. I wouldn't even call this content. A few new items. That's it. No new gameplay. Nothing particularly interesting. That's why.

Because unless you are level 20 it is fairly pointless. You get the same chest/helmet reward 5 missions in a row, the sniper and other rewards HARDLY ever drop. The weapons an gear you can buy at rank 2-3 are laughable in comparison to what you already have. The only reason for anyone above 20 to do it before was the shards you could get from dismantling the same armor piece you got 5 games in a row. Once they patched it out there was no reason to do these anymore, they are just a pointless faction grind that gives you no benefits.
