Just thought this was an interesting little tid bit. Miranda Keyes was a Commander, and Captain Keys was a... yea... Captain! So what do you think happened here? He couldn't get his level 30?
Or was this just his second account? :-P

Affirmative action.

While I want to reiterate that Captain is a higher rank than Commander, I really just want to point out that the responses in thread are so much win that we're approaching critical mass.
-
How do we know they are both in the Navy? P.S. - These were supposed to be fun responses, hence the "level 30" bit. Not to be taken seriously.

There are several key words in the games themselves that call ships naval vessels. In the books, the word fleet and flotilla are used often. When's the last time you called a column of tanks a flotilla? Jacob Keyes was a Navy Captain, which outranks his daughter, who is a Navy Commander. I could go on with this. Never once in the games or books do the mention the Army, it's always Marines, which is a branch of the Navy. For those of you who are saying he couldn't get his 30, are you -blam!- kidding me?
Marines are a branch of the Navy??? What???
Let me rephrase that. The Marines are related to the Navy, not neccessarily a branch.
The Department of the Navy consists of two Uniformed Services: the United States Navy and the United States Marine Corps. _____ The United States Marine Corps (USMC) is a branch of the United States military responsible for providing power projection from the sea,[1] using the mobility of the U.S. Navy to rapidly deliver combined-arms task forces. While administratively under the Department of the Navy,[2][3] the U.S. Marine Corps is a separate branch of the military, often working closely with US Naval forces for training, transportation, and logistic purposes. Info off of 2 different wiki's. As for the OP, Captain outranks commander in both Halo's Navy and US navy.
Yeah and the system they use was made for spartans (no offense elites) that's why it says stuff like "you are a true spartan" "you are a spartan officer"
Posted by: xIguana117x Well, it's quite obvious. Miranda (unlike her Father) lasted more than one -blam!- game.
But Captain Key's had joined the Navy before her doughter was even boorn.
-
Look at real Navy ranks Captain is right under Rear Admiral (lower half) I'd know my parents are Military. Bungie sort of got ahead of themselves with their rankings on multiplayer so just think of it as the Marine Corps instead. Remember Keyes was Navy, so was Master Chief (MCPO), but their is no Master Chief Petty Officer ranking either on multiplayer. [Edited on 02.22.2008 6:18 AM PST]

Actually a Captain utranks a Commander in the UNSC Navy. Commander utranks a Captain in the marines. Also read The Fall of Reach, there it clearly states that a Captain outranks a Commander.
-
Captain keyes couldn't get to lvl 30 cuz he was a camper fr00b
-
Halcyon beats frigate. Captain keyes was higher in rank,
