It seems I'm having a very different experience with the game than most...
I'm a software developer in my 30s. I work all day, come home, hit the gym or go for a bike ride, make dinner, and take care of the dog. After dinner, I boot up the PS4, create a party with 4 to 6 of my friends... work friends, childhood friends, friends I've just met... We hop in a PS4 party, then we all load up the game. We battle through all of the game's missions together. We take on the strikes. We take on the queens wrath missions. We're working on building up our light levels. We do patrols and bounties, and we all enter the Crucible together.
I am having an absolute blast playing Destiny with my friends. Maybe the difference is that I have a dedicated set of friends whom I can play the game with that make it so much fun, but reading through this board is very interesting to me. It seems that many of the people writing here are having a very different experience than I am having. Is it simply because I'm playing with my friends that I find what the developers at Bungie have given us so entertaining?

Yeah, I have 1 or mates that I roll through the galaxy through. It's really fun, both in a cooperative and competitive state.

I play far too much (uni student..) and I still enjoy the game, everyday. I've hit a wall with my lock at level 28 (need asc shards) so Im working on a hunter and titan. I love the game. I do have people I play with, and if they're offline I go to DestinyLFG.net to find a group. It's great... I really don't understand all the complaining.. I've spent 3 days and 10 hours playing the game I think that's well above and beyond $100 value . Of course, there are some changes I'd like to see.. namely Bad Juju is just... bad. But this is already getting patched. Second I think super's should be removed from PVP or only become available after a 5/10 kill streak (cod like) Part from that, I love the game and look forward to future expansions. Haters gon' hate

5 RepliesThose who come and post their opinion/experience about the game, complain after 5 minutes of game play. They're just idiots who don't know how to take the time to get into it. At first, yeah it's boring as shit. But after awhile, it gets VERY interesting very quickly.

I'm in a similar boat man. I work hard as a foreman in production and manufacturing all day, go to JiuJitsu, and fire up the Xbox1 for some Destiny with friends. I send enemies to the void with my Warlock, turn them to golden ash with my Hunter, and hulk smash with my Titan and I am enjoying every last second of it.

I may not have so many friends that play Destiny, least of all on the same console, but I do have fun with Destiny. It's challenging and honestly fun to play after a long day at college. Learning how to solo the level 26 version of Weekly Nexus and then finishing it over the weekend was such a good feeling, and will stay as one of my greatest achievements in gaming. I'm doing 2 exotic bounties, and even though PVP isn't my thing, I appreciate a game that can throw an actually challenging task at me and give a meaningful reward. That's one of the things that confuses me about people complaining that the game is just repetitive same ol' same ol'. You know you can increase the difficulty on every mission besides individual strikes, right? Pick some bounties, pick a mission and crank it up to lvl 28 and challenge yourself.

12 RepliesYou're free to like the game but in full honesty it's not the game you're enjoying it's the time with your friends. If you were playing this game alone it'd be abysmal and barely worth playing for more than a few hours. It's hard to respect a defense towards Destiny when the only defense I've seen is "Well it's fun in a group" or "It's bungie i'm sure they'll do better later" I'm not one to usually care but this is one of the laziest poorly written sloppiest cores to a game I've encountered since my N64 days. You can think how you want but I just don't see how you can defend this game when your only reasoning is because you can create a party with your friends and have fun. You can do that with anything, it doesn't make the game good because you and your friends can make the best out of a bad situation. Quite honestly it's just hard to respect you at all that you're so easily swayed that you won't even consider how much of a joke the story is etc. But you enjoy that ONE thing you keep doing with your friends as will I with mine because like i said. I'm trying to make the best out of a bad situation. But that sure as hell doesn't mean i'm going to defend Bungie's half-assed job.

If u want to experience what others are going through, try to play without ur friends and try to group up with randoms using ps4 messenger Or play by urself, the destiny universe seems really empty and cold when u play by urself. It isnt the social game much of us were expecting.

I had a random guy last night send me a fireteam request and i helped him gain some light levels, we ended up sitting there and talking about our destiny experiences while farming on mars. we are now planning to fully start up my clan and start raiding with clan members. if anyone else agrees and thinks that the future of destiny (all aspects from raiding to crucible) will be a good join my clan we will help you level up if you need it and all of the people that have joined are friendly. Clan name: Metamorphosis please note this is an xbox clan.

I completely agree. I play destiny with a good friend of mine and we have such a great time. I mean, maybe most of our time is spent ripping sparrows around the moon seeing who can do the best trick, but we haven't gotten bored with the game yet. Maybe that's just the nature of online video games? You're never going to have as much fun if you're not playing with friends.

Bottom line, Destiny isn't worth $60 going by today's standards for determining video game worth, but they get away with it because every new release now is $60 whereas a few years back a game might go for 50, or even 35, or drop rapidly in price depending on value depicted via consumer reports...nowadays the company's make all the rules, it's a wonder you can even play a video game without having the government "permitting" you to do so, maybe it's because it's such a great distraction from the real issues but then again when companies like bungie screw up this bad it just brings all those issues to the foreground anyway, and then there are some still stuck in their little matrix with their girl in the red dress, who'd rather just look the other way than face the issues that plague gamers and everyone else alike.

No fortunately your experience isn't unique to just you, those having just as much fun as you are are just playing the game rather than posting here in the forums. You can check out the thread that has the poll of opinions on Destiny and a vast majority seem to be enjoying it. It definitely helps with friends though, I have several groups of friends who in turn have their groups of friends so this allows us to meet new people and always have someone to play with. Myself and another one of my friends I always play with have become notorious among our group for taking the graveyard shift to play so usually we get hit up to play at night since people usually know we are on.
