Basically we need to clear the cache, here's how:
1. Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it shuts all the way down. (5-6 seconds)
2. Unplug the power cable from the wall and wait about a minute before plugging back in.
3. Power on and Game on!
This has worked for me and seriously, -blam!- those lizard squad sluts for raining on everyone's parade. If you weren't aware Destiny and other game titles were the target of a recent attack made by a no talent group of "hackers". It wasn't really even a hack. But anywho, share the love!

Thanks for posting the tip that worked for you! If others follow these steps, please be careful when turning off and turning on your console as doing to improperly could cause problems. Consult your console manual or the manufacturer's support site for additional info.

Ok 2 years later n still having this issues. I'm done with destiny. This is ridiculous.
-
yeah this did not work at all, i had to sign out of my account then sign back in
-
I did this and at first I was like Heck Ya!! It actually bumped me to an update screen which was the first bit of... Anything since I first plugged in my new XBO but then when it got to 35mb out of 73mb it gave me a Wasp Error. Then when I retried it... I'm getting the Cattle Error again. I searously wish Bungie would communicate with its players and give us more up to date information so I felt like the problem was really being taken searously..

It'll work for a time. Their servers were hacked.
-
Thank you! Its just sad that a guy in the forums has to figure out how to fix it while the game developer doesnt have a clue! Their help basically says it is our problem and sends us on a wild goose chase trying to reconfigure routers and contact ip service providers...good lord. HEY BUNGIE!! HIRE THIS GUY!!!

Not sure if just random occurrence but tried this and seems to have sorted the ton of zebra errors I was getting today so thanks.
Master Thanks for posting the tip that worked for you! At most all bungie has done is placed a disclaimer, covering their arse ... like WTF !!! The only take-away message is that bungie has no idea on what is causing the bugs ... and after almost 4 months that is ridiculous.

Hold down right button left button and the directional pad down.
-
Thanks it really helped
-
Tried this and now cannot even sign in to my account to watch Netflix. Thanks bud.
-
I had an error code Turtle, tried this and it worked first time....
-
Thank You!!!

Wow, much simpler than what I did. I went through the painstaking process of setting up a static IP and forwarding a ton of ports. Which did work and now my NAT type is set to OPEN which was also a potential cause if the cattle error so Bungie claims. If the cache fix doesn't work try following the steps on the portforward site (http://portforward.com/) and forward the Bungie ports in the post below. All relevant info is in this article. http://www.bungie.net/en/Help/Article/11931

I simply eject the disc and then re-insert it. Temp fix, but good for a few days.

DOESNT WORK -_-
-
Doesn't work for me...
-
Fixed it for me on XB1. You are the man.
-
Any idea how to do the same for PS3. Itching to play some Destiny
-
Tried this multiple times on a 360. DOESN'T DO ANYTHING. The problem is with their network servers, not our machines or even ISP settings. Appreciate someone from the community trying to help the rest of us, but Bungie needs to do their own job and fix the problem for everyone.

Tried the un plug method all I got was the Zebra error code again. I've had it with this game I give up
