Bungie, you owe me an Exotic chest armor
My situation:
I have 10 Strange Coins.
Xur wants to sell me armor for 13 Strange Coins.
So, I set out to find three more. And guess what? I can't.
For the life of me, I can't get any. I've spent 14 hours over 2 days trying every single method possible, and gotten NONE. Tiger Strike playlist, PvP, blue engram farming (such as it is)..I've tried the Weekly Heroic solo and with a team of 3 for HOURS and gotten shredded...
Nothing.
This all coming after somehow wrangling 10 of them just by playing missions and a little pvp. Now that I'm trying my absolute damnedest to get only 3 more, I'm getting screwed. Doesn't this seem backwards? Weekly Heroics shouldn't be the only way to reliably generate Coins.
And listen, I don't mind having to put the work in to get better gear. In fact, I like that. But busting your ass for this long and getting JACK SHIT in return is unacceptable. In fact, I haven't even gotten a legendary item out if it. I got ONE legendary engram that (surprise, surprise) turned out to be a blue junk weapon. I realize and appreciate the fix coming to engrams in 1.0.2. but should have been like that to begin with. It also doesn't help my coin problem. I understand that these coins and items are intentionally difficult to get, but this is absurd. Just on principle alone, 14 hours of mostly-successful play devoted to one goal shouldn't result in empty hands.
Bungie, I feel like I'm not getting rewarded for playing. I feel like I'm being punished.

I payed one of the strikes yesterday and got six from it. It's one of those that's on the list. Down the side of the destination screen.

4 RepliesThe problem is you're trying to hard for coins don't try and just say "you know what I won't even try to get strange coins and you'll get a TON of strange coins enough for two maybe even THREE exotic chest pieces

I didn't read your entire post but I know the daily strike awards 3 strange coins at level 22, and it awards more for every higher difficulty. Just a tip not being a douche.

I'm in the same boat. The loot system is flawed. I spent motes of light on helm engram and got a Titan helm. As a matter of fact, all the legendary stuff I have found has been for a Titan. I am a warlock. I needed two more coins to get the auto rifle. Played from 6pm Friday until 4am Sunday morning and no luck. Just very disappointing when you put in all that time and end up with nothing for your character. Love the game, but not really feeling the urge to play for a while. Felt like I was camping a item again back in the days of Everquest, but at least you got rewarded for it....

I'm sorry, I fail to see how Bungie owes you an Exotic. In this case, it's just unfortunate luck. We all have it from time to time.

2 RepliesI found the best way for me to earn strange coins... Was to do the loot farm runs... Best in my opinion is the relic iron chest/loot run on Mars... Did the run for an hour and got 13 coin... Special chest popped up more frequently on Mars than any other planet from what I can tell. (by special chest I mean the lucky one that gives more than normal) So. Hope this helps.. Also. It's next to the event that randomly appears and you earn shit that way...

Decrypting rare engrams can make coins or motes. I personally don't believe this week's strike was challenging but it depends.

Cant pass the weekly heroic.... how sad. Easiest strange coins in the game

3 RepliesGo to the Rocket Yard and kill the Fallen and Hive guys! After an hour you eill have enough engrams. The Cryptard will make many of them into coins. This game is about grinding for boy fashion ! lol
