Just curious what public says for hard earn raid weapon use in PVP. Fair or not. Such as Vex.
Here's the link just incase.

It's a matter of game balance... scale tippers are always damaging to a competitive game's progression... there are no exceptions... we'll need to wait and see the difference for ourselves if it's effective... seeing as how one shot can take out a person, it'll take a maximum of one tgird an extra shot to take down a target... if you need that extra one third to take down a target (or 4), than you were dick riding the weapons power anyways...

The video he linked had like 1 person moving and like 1 person trying to shoot him in the first 2 minutes I watched. I could of done the same thing with the starting rifle. Im curious how a 34% decrease in damage will make it compared to any other weapon like suros or red death.

1 ReplyEdited by Soccer ViBeZ: 9/29/2014 11:07:24 PMTo be fair, there is a really (and I mean REALLY) low chance that you will even end up going against someone with the Vex Mythoclast. Only like, what, 10 groups have beaten the Raid on hard? And to my knowledge, it's not even a guaranteed drop. Just think of the odds that you would even be put in a game with someone with this weapon. Hint: (Really fudging low)
-
They could've patched it to where if you joined a raid that was ahead of your own checkpoint the mythoclast wouldn't drop
-
They earned it... Not that bad... Get over it.

2 RepliesIt seems a bit OP but if it is still an issue after the next AR nerf then Bungie will fix it. They're usually pretty reasonable with their balancing, they won't let 1 gun ruin the main part of their game.
-
So... Anyone want to do the VoG on hard with me?
-
1 ReplyIts not OP, The Mythoclast only fires one round at a time. Normal fusion rifles fire seven at once. Anyone with a scout rifle or handcannon can replicate this guys results. Also video was staged, he barley gets targeted at all.

1 ReplyIn Iron banner and Rumble very unfair. I'm a gamer with no real life gamer friends. In fact I have been critized so much in my real life for playing video games that I can't arrange a group of friends to go do VOG so I can reap the rewards and the fact that bungie doesn't care for people like me by not including matchmaking in any raids then I would say yes its unfair in those modes. It's just another mode I have to stay away from. But but but try arrange a group of strangers to do it with you? I've been trying that for over a week and still no luck. I just about got one psn buddy to help me out on the Queens kill orders. I say just about because my response from most was either I already have what those can offer or I'm sick of doing those missions. The only reason this PS buddy help me was because hes a trophey hunter and on Demon Souls all those years back I grinded to get every weapo and dropped them for him to get the trophies. Man I can't wait til tuesday to play Shadow of mordor and delete this game FOREVER

If you finish the raid you did what few people though of doing so yes hands down if you got it you should be able to us it

2 RepliesEdited by MR E0S: 9/28/2014 6:22:16 PMThis thread ultimately sums it all up. Do you honestly think that Destiny can survive on it's PVE content alone? No... eventually, most of you will be in the PVP arenas to get you 10 years worth out of it. Now consider how many people you denied of the chance to be able to participate in Raids. Now consider the rewards you get from the raids. And the effect they have on the content that is going to be the primary reason to be playing this game at all a few months from now. And you'll see why... Destiny, the story of.... Is a perfect example of stupid gamers buying into hype and helping to encourage the destruction of the industry. You proved that hype and name alone is enough. Congratulate yourselves for being idiots.
-
Skills beat weapons. Seems fair to me.
-
The question isn't "is it fair", the question is "will people care" and they won't because..they are people. They'll come up with any excuse to have an unfair advantage, very few competitive people would rather lose than win unfairly..
-
9 RepliesExotic weapons shouldn't be used in PvP imo, most seem pretty powerful, and are almost too powerful.
-
1 ReplyEdited by WhoLikesChicken: 9/28/2014 7:14:27 PMSo after reading a bunch of replies, not a single person has called this gun by name. What is it so I can look it up? I'd like to see is stats so I can dorm a valid opinion for myself
-
2 RepliesRegardless of the stupid reasons people of coming up with to defend it with "they earned it so they can use it". That weapon is proof of poor game design and why no one will ever take Destiny's PVP seriously competitively.
-
The only place in PVP that this gun will OP is Rumble and Iron Banner all the other modes have handicaps on weapons. Also if some one beats the Raids on hard and gets it as a drop then should be able to use it where ever they want.
-
3 RepliesIt does not matter how OP the gun is hard to get so people should be able to use it for whatever they want. The only problem I have is that there is no equivalent gun that you are able to get from PvP that is the same caliber. So a PvE gun is the best gun for use in PvP. There should be some way to get a strong gun from PvP to compete with this PvE weapon.
-
The crucible was meant to level the playing field. It obviously hasn't and this weapon is just adding on to the unbalance. It needs a nerf in only PvP, only PvP though not the iron banner or PvE.
-
I'd hate to see what that does in iron banner and completely upgraded
-
3 RepliesWhoever says yes obviously loves being overpowered and unfair
-
Iron Banner, sure. Normal PvP, no. Standard PvP requires balance and this weapon is just too strong. Props to him for getting it, I don't want to take away his accomplishment, but its just to strong in PvP when balance is important.
-
7 RepliesIf you think using that weapon is fair, your an idiot. Who cares if he "earned" it. So if he beats a pve raid and I dont he automatically deserves the right to destroy me in pvp even if I'm better than him? When does the master chief collection come out again?
-
8 RepliesIf you get it, you earned it and should be allowed to use it. End of story.
-
Well if it dropped for anyone, then i'm sure they'll be allowed to use the gun however they please. Whether it be for PvE or PvP, it's fine either way.
-
I think its odd that they give everyone the same base armor and shield rating for pvp to make it fair..and then put in a gun that is clearly stronger than any other.
