The Crucible & Its Godforsaken Loot System

Okay, In the past 24 hours I have played 3 skirmish matches where the other 2 players in my team -- Were afk farming. On top of that, I 1v3'd & won them all while dropping 40 bombs. When the matches are over with & the reward screen pops up, The two players that afk'd on my team were rewarded with LEGENDARY ENGRAMS & RARE ENGRAMS whilst I was rewarded NOTHING. Seriously Bungie? I should have at least gotten a Legendary Back-brace from having to carry 2 afk farming A**holes & winning the match! I have come up with a better loot system that will give better rewards to people who are actually playing the game & will also please Activision's carebearness for people that have no gungame or if any at all. Basically, Just run the rewards chances based on the player's score. Every 1000 points will earn you an increase of better loot. I think points are the better way here, Mainly because if a guy comes in 6th on his team, But still has 2000 points or more -- Should not be excluded from getting decent gear. That person did put some work in somewhere, So that should be rewarded. Even afk farmers can still get loot, But since they always get no points -- Their chances are extremely nullified in getting decent or Legendary loot. Everything you do in PvP ties to how many points you have. So, If you do good -- Your chances of getting Engrams are boosted greatly. Even getting a 2000 point score should give you an engram or two. You capped points or defended them, Assisted your ally Guardians. I'm just saying, If you put work in for your team, The reward screen should reflect some of that. Not just be negated. Even if you don't have very good gungame -- You can still support for points & sometimes that takes more work than doing the killing. So, What we have here is a reworked loot system for the Crucible that gives players better loot based on the points they earn in the match. Anyone can incline their gear through this, Not just the elite -- Which is very important. It also takes a dump on afk farmers who ruin the match for players that actually want to play & not go all tryhard 24/7. Also, One more thing -- I would've been happy with a Rare Engram in those matches I played today. This new system could have made that happen. Its just the fact you get rewarded for effort means something to us players. Or most of us anyway.. -- Stormy

  • So I have been reading a lot of these threads about people getting shafted on the crucible. I can't agree with any of it. I have pull no less than 4 exotic on the crucible after pumping hours into it. I play well past the 100 mark cap. My first exotic THE LAST WORD I got from a win and I was in first place. My last 2 exotics I got from 2nd or 3rd. I believe the system is based not in the overall play of the specific match. As it what you do in the match doesn't have a massive affect on the rewards. I believe it is akin to a leveling system. After a certain amount of time/point you have a chance to get loot. So after x am out of matches and x amount of point you get legendary engram or exotic weapon. While most people want to see the top player reward I can no condone that. I know for a fact I didn't need all the loot I got. Hell most of it is still in the vault. I feel that people that preform poorly should be given something as they obviously are not that good. Since the crucible is a integrated part of the game. People are sorta force to play, so while the major PvP people are constant playing,the few timid pve people that venture into the war zone and get wreaked are really only there because of either bounties or marks. Maybe I am bias as I have gotten decent drops, hell I got suros regime last night. But I think the system is okay.

    • Posted this in another thread already, but I thought this picture of a match I played earlier today would fit this thread perfectly too (yes, I am the one who is on the top of the leader board) I wasn't a huge critic of the rewards system before, but... really? Can you explain this?

      I 110% agree with this post. A match I played last night I did excellent and got nothing to show for it. A guy that went 2-15 on my team received an exotic sniper AND a legendary engram.

      • Yeah, the loot should at least be proportional to your performance, i.e. the better you do the higher chance you have at great loot and vice versa. It should not be guaranteed, but at least the chance would be better.

          • Annoys the hell out of me when I'm at the top of my game get a decent amount of kills and capture points on control and get absolute nothing for it yet some guy that has 3 kills gets ace rewards . how is this even fair

            • I'm sorry about the back breaking effort you put in and I agree about the loot system allow me to tell you what happened to me recently. I'm no PvP pro on this game even though I rocked at other fps games. The way its played is difficult for me since the maps are small and the game is super fast pace. I play a titan and I don't have the best weapons suited for small maps. But I did try hard to do what I could but other people are so much quicker, I turn a corner and get created with a almost instant death or I get surprise on someone but I panic with my shooting and ness it all up and die. I went 2/14 felt like shit and didn't wanna try it again till I get better with tactics in PvP. The messed up thing is that even though I did bad and didn't rage quit cause I was hoping I was at least helping in some way ( there was a afk getting spawn killed on our team) when the loot window came up I some how was awarded a exotic hand gun called hawkmoon. The afk was rewarded 2 purple pieces for his class and the all the others who won the match for us got nothing. I'm sorry stuff like this happens. I msged the guy in first and told him I would give him the hand gun of I could cause it seemed so unfair. He rewarded me with rage and called me a scrub. OK I get that the guy did the best and the guy who did shittu got the goods. But all in all I just trying to do the right thing and wanted him to know I didn't feel like justice was done on the rewards and it needs to be fixed. But there is a little plus side to it the guy was all purple gear WMD had a exotic weapon and a exotic chest piece. So I don't think it really mattered to him but I'm sure if this was someone else they would have enjoyed a reward for the work they done. But also just because someone did bad doesn't mean they should be excluded from rewards too. I did try but I was using a scout rifle and a sniper rifle because I like precision shooting but in PvP that's harder to pull off with how fast pace and how small the maps are.

              • Also, This isn't just a post that saturates the forum with tears. The whole idea based on Feedback is that you present your tears & back them up with something that would change whats wrong & be appealing to the whole community. Not just cry about this or that. I'm sure I'm not the only one who has ran into this issue multiple times. But if there is anything you wish to add to this that you think would be good, By all means do. That's what a forum is about. Just make sure what ideas you offer to the table, Would benefit the entire community -- Not single any portion of the community out.

              • Have played pvp some and not the greatest at it, but did enjoy myself. Untill the end at the reward screen, lol. Have yet to get anything from pvp. Zip, nodda, scratch, nothing. Kinda discourages me from even messing with it anymore.

                  • I like this idea it's original and it makes players in PVP have an incentive for once in this game to try and have some sort of teamwork to get those better scores. +1 👍
