Let me ask you this? If we let Bungie get away with selling us half a game, as enjoyable or non-enjoyable as it may be, what stops Bioware? or 343? Halo: REACH had MUCH more content then Destiny.
6-8 hour story that Had a Beginning, Middle, and End, a verity of missions. Fire-Fight, Forge, and a plethora of multiplayer modes. And your telling me this so called "MMO" can get away with having LESS content then a FPS? Your telling me this "MMO" can get away with having worse writing then an FPS, YOU ARE GOING to set there and tell me that this "MMO" is allowed to have less mission variety then a FPS? Halo 4 had more content then this "MMO" ( And before anyone -blam!-ing says it yes I know 343i made Halo 4 not Bungie, yet Halo 4 gets a lot of hate so I'm comparing the two) AND we knew WELL in advance about the plan for Halo 4 free STORY content. Halo: ODST had more interesting open world areas.
I mean HOW, HOW are you going to set there and try to justify this lack luster effort? We should hold Bungie up to a higher standard. Bioware released an amazing single player game called Mass Effect 3 a few years back, and the last five minuets sucked and the internet threw a shit fit. Destiny comes out, a butchered chopped up, mess. With no competent story telling to be seen and this is OK? NO, no its not.
