Guess what? Look at almost any title shown at E3 or other gaming expos and compare the release version to the demo version. Want to know what you'll find? Missing content. Why is that? Because the demo versions shown at game expos are early builds, and as development goes on certain features that may work in early builds end up not working with required game mechanics in later builds. Some features end up cut due to hardware limitations from the target platform. Decisions get made, and the "fluff" gets trimmed. Yes the early trailers for Destiny showed a lot of content that is no longer in the game. Is it disappointing that those features were cut? Sure. Are they features that directly impacted the gameplay? Likely not. Just because a feature is cut during development, that doesn't mean we will never see it in the release build. Bungie may find a way to get the shown features working with the release build at a later date, or they may not. Am I going to let that ruin my gaming experience? Definitely not, because Destiny is in my opinion one of the most enjoyable games in recent years and I look forward to seeing what Bungie has planned for us.

  • You think that the lack of an engaging story is "not likely" impacting the game?

  • I was able to follow the current story content without needing to view the Grimoire cards. If you pay attention to the dialogue then it's pretty easy to follow. Remember, Destiny is planned to go on for years, so you could say what we have currently is like the first part in a multipart series. I think one of the reasons so many people are disappointed is because Bungie didn't expect us to clear everything and reach the current end-game so quickly. They were counting on us taking a little longer to complete everything to give them time to roll out the rest of the story in steps.

  • No shit it's easy to follow, its got about as much depth (if not less) than an episode of Barney. THAT is the reason for complaints.

  • Its easy to follow... but it isn't engaging or interesting. Also its silly to think people can't play through 20 short missions over a weekend... and if they didn't expect it then why drag out the progression system with horrible random loot and grind caps? Also bungie is even more silly to plan destiny to go on for years... They should have designed the game to be an enjoyable complete product that they could later expand upon. Its bad planning to shoot for 10 years and design everything to be like a bread crumb trail of paid dlc or something before you even know how many people will still be playing the game after the first month. Bungie should have focused on making a great game, making a great co-op experience, making a great universive... not setting us up for a bread crumb trail when we paid for a loaf of bread.
