My character just loaded up on the app for bungie. Will try to log in on ps4 now
Edit: able to log into my character on ps4 finally and able to go to tower with no issues so far

What exactly was wrong with yours? i cant even pass the home menu, everytime i press start i get the error

I had the centipede error that wouldn't allow me to get past the title screen. While found random stuff I checked the app and I saw my character there for the first time in over a day. I then signed on and am now playing without a problem. Idk what fixed it but no more centipede error for me, for now at least...

My bad I meant to say while doing random stuff ie watching tv or watching youtube videos spell check screwed something up lol

I messaged the xo guy and made and was posting on a bunch of forums so idk if I pissed them off enough to get the attention of them or what but if was being annoying and bashing them and then out of no where it started working
