This discussion is designed for PvP.
I'm warning you guys, the first upgrade you get on the Suros Regime is called "Focus Fire"
The focus fire gives the following perk to your gun while zoomed in:
-31% fire rate
+19% impact
Edit: Some people have no idea what Damage is and what impact is. Damage is only applicable to PvE and Iron banner. Impact is the actual amount of health you take with each bullet in PvP.
Overall, your DPS will just be lowered, but your damage per mag will be higher. This is a HEAVY hit if you're looking to upgrade your gun specifically for PvP, and not iron banner.
I'm just warning you all. This is NOT an upgrade, it's a downgrade. The perks after focus fire aren't worth the drop in DPS. Your time to kill goes from 1 second to 1.3 seconds potentially.

Ive upgraded one and left two for PvP. Xurners just wont understand after they upgrade and cant go back to buy another once he leaves lol

2 RepliesEdited by Jim SWAT 01: 4/10/2015 7:33:16 PMHow do people not already know this? lol. Good update - I just assumed the gun was common enough for people to know. Another solution would be to get 2 of them. upgrade one and leave the other at base. I did assume, however, that the damage was increase in crucible when ADS. it sure did seem like it too.

Easy Solution: Let us choose between "Focus Fire" and Hip Fire" just like the Abyss Defiant has it.
-
And how about the users of pve? And they needed the auto rifles so this makes it have more impact then without the upgrade
-
2 RepliesYou completely ignore precision damage and accuracy with focus fire.
-
You forgot the bottom half mag ;-)
-
6 RepliesIf you upgrade suros fully you pretty much have a full auto scout rifle. I can drop fools in crucible in 3 or 4 hits to the head. Learn to ain
-
With a lower rate of fire more bullets will be precision shots which will balance out the total damage overall
-
Focus fire actually gives you more damage per mag in the long run
-
4 RepliesLol @ idiots just staring blindly at a dps number. Dps dont mean sht if you cant hit your target. Slower rate of fire means more accuracy and thus more precise hits at range. Its all situational. Its also different for every player with different playstyles. Did you know you can also shoot unscoped? That way you get best of both worlds.

Edited by GoldenArms27: 4/10/2015 4:57:14 PMUgh I wish people would stop with this backwards thinking. If you don't upgrade your Suros, you're doing yourself a disservice. The gun is better all around upgraded, and without having the signature perk, it's just a lesser version of Shadow Price or Vanquisher. If you want a faster fire rate then don't aim down sight when using it, it's that simple. Plus with the auto rifle nerf, having it upgraded with focus fire actually makes it more viable as an effective weapon now. And just because it may do less DPS if you upgrade it to have Focus Fire, doesn't make it a bad choice. PvP IS NOT ABOUT DPS! DPS only matters in PvE, where you may be emptying a lot of bullets into one target, a major, or more likely a strike boss. In PvP, with a Suros Regime, you should be aiming for the head when zoomed in, and DPS isn't important, how many headshots you land is what matters. With each of those headshots doing 33% more damage, your time to kill is better than if you weren't using Focus Fire, and your shots are more likely to be headshots
-
It just makes it into a Vanquisher/ Shadow Price without the upgrades..

Edited by flat pancake303: 4/10/2015 4:22:51 PMI started a poll discussing whether a Hip Fire perk should be an option instead (like Abyss Defiant). Please check it out if you want. Sorry for self promoting (it's impossible to get a lot of bumps on these forums).

Buy 2

4 RepliesOr if you ignore this clown and upgrade to 'SUROS REGIME' you Regain Health when dealing Damage. Helps a lot when doing Crota Hard Mode with no Chalice

1 ReplyBetter accuracy and u unlock more attck good upgrade and stats soooooo
shut up m8
2 RepliesI don't believe DPS decreases all that much. Just think: you have two weapons, one fires fast with low damage, the other fires slow with high damage. They balance each other out. You can hit 6 shots for 20 damage each in the same time that you can hit 3 shots for 40 damage each. Do that math.
-
Pve and pvp both use impact. So the focus fire perk lowers the dps for both. But in pve it actually saves ammo since you do more damage per bullet.
-
I have 2 one maxed at 331 And one that's brand new never to be leveled
-
2 RepliesThis post is old news. Everybody learned that higher impact autos were always better(pre-patch). Focus Fire = Suros became the highest impact auto. Which is why is was used so much. This isn't Crota hard mode. Dps doesn't mean much in pvp. TTK combined with x number of shots is much more important.
-
I've got two for that very reason.
-
Thanks you confirmed what i was thinking... Today grinding a New Hunter i made yesterday was lvl 12 using a Green auto rifle i was beating constantly 2 users with suros, this is the reason why... Should be like abyss defiant
-
They did it correctly with abyss defiant. Give suros the option between focused fire and hip fire
