This discussion is designed for PvP.
I'm warning you guys, the first upgrade you get on the Suros Regime is called "Focus Fire"
The focus fire gives the following perk to your gun while zoomed in:
-31% fire rate
+19% impact
Edit: Some people have no idea what Damage is and what impact is. Damage is only applicable to PvE and Iron banner. Impact is the actual amount of health you take with each bullet in PvP.
Overall, your DPS will just be lowered, but your damage per mag will be higher. This is a HEAVY hit if you're looking to upgrade your gun specifically for PvP, and not iron banner.
I'm just warning you all. This is NOT an upgrade, it's a downgrade. The perks after focus fire aren't worth the drop in DPS. Your time to kill goes from 1 second to 1.3 seconds potentially.

2 RepliesIt really does suck. I got Exotic PRIMARY and decrypted...and got SUROS REGIME. EVEN THOUGH I DISMANTLED IT BECAUSE IT FELT WEIRD AND THE ROF WAS SO BAD AND GOT ME KILLED BECAUSE I HAD TO UPGRADE FOCUS FIRE... Least I got an exotic shard...but still, I was hoping for Jade Rabbit or The Last Word... >:(

1 ReplyThats why i have 2 suros regimes

There's been mathematical breakdowns between the two. From damage per second, rounds per minute, & damage per round. Non focused suros barely has an advantage over a focused one, & it really only applies when it's ALL headshots. I think Datto breaks it down pretty specifically if anyone wants to check it out. The difference is basically nonexistent.

Edited by Darth Sidious: 8/13/2015 8:58:58 PMIt's ONLY when looking down your sight the suros has a very good hip fire accuracy at close range then aiming down the sight with the slow fire rate makes the gun more accurate

2 RepliesEdited by Adam241991: 8/5/2015 2:00:34 PMI TOTALLY DISAGREE! Each body shot with focused fire gives the same damage than a head shot without the perk, and head shots with the gun makes way more damage with the perk than without. The gun will fire slower, yes, but to me this is ALSO an advantage. The slower rate of fire means that the gun has much better stability, it means that it will be much easier landing shots. I found that especially at longer range the focused fire perk helps me land a high amount of precision shots. Without the perk the gun is pretty useless at mid to long range, especially now that pretty much everyone seems to be using hand guns (thorn must be owned by about 95% of destiny players by now it seems....). You try to take out a guy without focused fire thats a little far away and you will not hit many shots. And without hammer forged the range of the gun is really not great to say the least. You will get taken out by thorn unless you're at short range pretty much every time, guaranteed. With the slower rate of fire, you will find that the 33 bullet mag lasts you much longer. You can easily take out 3 guardians with a mag and still have bullets to spare. Without the perk you will find yourself running out of bullets and reloading a whole lot more. Not only will it be easier to land headshots, deal much more damage with every hit and waste less bullets, but also you will be able to unlock all the other upgrades such as hammer forged, that is essential for longer range shots, and the 'suros regime' perk (bottom half of magazine deals bonus damage AND has a chance to return health when dealing damage). By choosing not to upgrade to focused fire you are also giving up the chance to get these pretty useful perks. All in all, the suros regime is, in my opinion, a far better weapon when fully upgraded. Spraying bullets around like a madman has never been a very good strategy, as least for me. The gun reminds me of the BTRD-345 (machine gun/heavy weapon) although of course not as powerful; mid range rate of fire with devastating impact, good range, good stability and good mag. Im pretty sure that for all you that has tried the btrd-345, you will agree that a slower rate of fire for higher impact is a hell of a good tradeoff! The fully upgraded suros regime has got to be the best assault rifle in the game, hands down!

If you shoot it like a very fast scout rifle it shoots faster

1 ReplyI want to love my girlfriend but I treat her as a doll to boost my own confidence I'm sorry but I just don't want to be hurt again by committing :(
-
1 ReplyI had to wait for my next Suros to drop because of this craptastic perk.
-
Hey you know that gun that you wanted and put so much experience into? Yeah do what I tell you to do with that gun. How about don't tell me how to play the game. Ok? I like that plan.
-
2 RepliesOh that is great because no one cares. We found this out months ago and that was when auto rifles were good
-
1 ReplyI totally agree on this.I liked the gun.much more without focused fire,it should be switch able, like it is with abyss defiant.I almost bought anther one from xur.but realised the damage would be to low if I didn't upgrade
-
2 RepliesReally? I played with a friend that dominated with his fully upgraded Suros in the iron banner. 20 +kill streaks and consistently 1st or 2nd. He did just fine.
-
Use it all the time in trials... Feels great to wreck kids with an AR when they're trying their little hearts out with their thorns.
-
1 ReplyTap fire it and it makes the gun way better
-
7 Replies0.3 seconds is barely a difference.
-
2 RepliesOr you can just bypass the slowed rate of fire by shooting it like a scout rifle, you get the additional power as well as the higher fire rate.
-
Focus fire only applies when you ads so if you want the gun to keep the high fire rate dont ads. But the gun is better with focus fire.
-
2 RepliesA little late to the suros bud? I got mine 2nd or 3rd week of destiny it's a headshot machine
-
Wish I had seen this I just upgraded it after buying it from xur... And yea with Max stability slower shots is kinda dumb :(

Edited by Steelback7991: 5/17/2015 5:24:32 PMYou're forgetting the bonus headshot modifyer, i used it before the nerf in ironbanner and it was ridiculous how quick it would chew through health
-
I think Bungie should change the weapon where you can take Focus Fire off like with what they did for the Abyss Defiant.

There's a thing called hip fire...
-
Or, you know, you could just buy a Vanquisher VIII
-
3 Repliesyep. I was loving the Regime until I upgraded to focus fire. looks like I'll be sticking with my Vanq8 for Crucible.

If your not going to upgrade a suros than just get a vanquisher with good perks and it will serve you better.
