Loot cave exploit - FIXED with 1.0.1.5

The new patch fixes the cave. Ta-da! Hope some of you guys got to take advantage of it while you could.

  • There's just very little left to do now that farming has been all but eliminated, and enegram drop rates have been lessened. It was already hard enough to get anything useful out of the few enegram a you did get. Now that they are even more rare I don't see myself getting anything I can use for the foreseeable future.

      Thank god Bungie finally did something and removed it. Now people will actually have to earn their gear.

      You realize people farm far more spawns than just the loot cave right? Most of the other spots just require you to jump off a cliff or die to respawn the enemies, nerfing spawns isnt the right answer... that just makes patrols and missions in the area harder to complete

        • I've said this many times, farming is okay and everyone does it but people shouldn't have thought they'd get away with the cave bullshit for very long. Level 3 should not drop level 20 gear.

              • Excerpt from the DEV patch notes Destiny: The Cave The social experience of a cave farming run is amazing: the herding to get a team of Guardians all behind the line and firing in the right direction, the rush to grab the loot, the scramble when the panic wave starts, the beckoning glow from inside the cave. The speed at which the community organized around this activity was inspiring and humbling to us. But shooting at a black hole for hours on end isn't our dream for how Destiny is played. Our hope is that social engagement in public spaces is only one part of the Destiny experience. Expect changes soon which decrease the efficiency of cave farming and correspondingly increase engram drops from completing activities. Its a sad mixture but its is being worked on.

                  • Begin the Moon story mission "The Dark Beyond." Change the difficulty to be a few levels below where you're currently at, so it's not too easy. Play through the mission up through the cut scene where your character finds the dead guardian outside the big moon door. When the fallen come rushing out of the door, shoot all of the thralls that charge you, but ignore the Lead Knight Stay at the bottom of the stairs, and let the knight you. You'll re-spawn immediately before the door opened, but whatever loot the thralls dropped will remain. Repeat over and over again, and watch the loot pile up. Profit.

                        • The cave nerf, cmon guys.. I cave farmed and it was a little too easy. The queens bounty nerf, kinda bullshit & gives no incentive to keep doing them. The real kick in the balls for a lot of people (that isn't really realized yet) is the engram drop % lowering for hard wipes. This is going to hurt casual players the most, which sucks if you're forced to be casual due to spouse, children, work, etc. Say you're level 22 doing the lelel 24 vanguard strike. You wipe once, someone leaves, it then becomes a 45 minute to an hour ordeal to complete the mission, wiping a few more times at that. You finish only to get nothing. That would piss me off beyond belief. I see where they are trying to fix the Crota farm, but this wasn't the way. If they were going to make all these nerfs, wouldn't it be a fair trade at the same time to fix the Cryptarch (like they said they are looking into) so he actually gives you consistently something worthwhile? This seriously has snapped me out of my addiction & I don't even feel like playing after work.
